Articuno EX Full Art -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Articuno EX Full Art Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Articuno EX Full Art from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Articuno is a basic, EX, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Articuno EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Blizzard, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one water, and does 60 damage, plus this move does 10 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Articuno EX's second move is called Frost Prison, this move requires four energy cards, two each of water and colorless, and does 80 damage, plus if this card has any Plasma Energy cards attached to it the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Articuno EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Strategy-wise I wouldn't use more than one of these EX cards in a deck, I say this because Articuno's quickest move requires three energy cards, so this is a slow card to develop and actually play.  I would recommend keeping this card on your bench until you get three energy cards on it then moving it into the active Pokemon spot.  I would actually prefer using Blizzard every turn because it spreads damage to your opponent's benched Pokemon, because of this I would definitely include other Pokemon in the water type deck that spread damage so when you put Articuno EX into the active Pokemon spot later in the game most of your opponent's Pokemon have damage counters on them, so Articuno may be able to knock them out using Blizzard.  If many of the Pokemon in your deck require colorless energy, then I would put in 4 Plasma Energy cards and attach one to Articuno EX so that if you need to knock out a Pokemon by doing an 80 damage move to it you can use Frost Prison.  So, I would recommend using this card in almost any water type decks out there, but especially the ones that spread damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  This is definitely a card you'll want to have in your water type deck, I like its high hp, and both of its moves.  I especially like Blizzard's ability to damage your opponent's benched Pokemon.   One thing I would like to see from this card is that Frost Prison would do more damage, especially for four energy cards, but that is why I'm giving this card a 4 instead of a 5 because of this move only doing 80 damage.

Victini EX Full Art -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Victini EX Full Art Pokemon Card Plasma Storm Set
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Victini EX Full Art from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Victini is a basic, EX, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Victini EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Turbo Energize, this move requires one fire energy card and allows you to search your deck for 2 energy cards and then attach them to your benched Pokemon in any way you like.  Victini EX's second move is called Intensifying Burn, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, and does 50 damage plus 50 more damage if you are facing an EX Pokemon card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Victini EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Strategy-wise this is an EX card I would not use in one of my decks, but I will tell you my strategy if I were to use one of these cards in my deck, and I would only use 1 maximum in a fire type deck.  I would try and get Victini into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, then attach one energy card to it and use Turbo Energize to setup my benched Pokemon, because Victini EX has 110 hp, it should be able to endure your opponent's basic Pokemon's attacks for quite a few turns.  Once your benched Pokemon is set up, I would retreat Victini and put one of your benched Pokemon into play.  I wouldn't attach three energy cards to Victini because more than likely you won't be facing an EX card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card.  Surprisingly I don't like this EX card very much.  It has too low of hp for my liking and neither of its moves are very good at all.  Other than the card itself looking pretty cool, this wouldn't be a card I would spend a bunch of money on to include in one of my decks.

White Kyurem EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

White Kyurem EX Full Art Pokemon Card Boundaries Crossed
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of White Kyurem EX Full Art from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  White Kyurem EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  White Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Dragon Stream, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, and does 60 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin you may attach an energy card from your discard pile to this Pokemon.  White Kyurem EX's second move is called Ice Burn, this move requires four energy cards, two fire, and one each of water and colorless, this move does 150 damage, however you must discard two fire energy cards attached to White Kyurem, but this move does burn the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since White Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Just a reminder, since this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Like the White Kyurem card from this set, the EX version is pretty slow, so you'll want to keep this card on your bench and attach at least four energy cards to it.  Make sure to use this card in a water and fire type deck.  Definitely try and keep this card on the bench until it has at least three energy cards on it, that way when you move it into the active Pokemon spot you can start attacking right away by using Dragon Stream.  The more energy cards you get on this card the better, if you put 6+ energy cards on this card, you will be able to use Ice Burn two turns in a row without having to attach additional energy cards to White Kyurem EX.  So my strategy would be to get a ton of energy cards on White Kyurem EX, move it to the active Pokemon spot, use Ice Burn as many times as you can, then use Dragon Stream when you don't have enough energy to use Ice Burn.  Because White Kyurem EX uses so many energy cards, I would make sure to only have one of these cards in a deck and to have a good number of energy cards in your deck and a good way to get them into your hand quickly so you never run out.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card that I would include in any dual type deck out there that had fire and water type Pokemon.  The only things I don't like about this card is that it is slow, has a high retreat cost, and is an EX card.  Other than that, this card has a high hp, two powerful moves, and will definitely knock out Pokemon very quickly.  With that being said, I prefer Black Kyurem EX over White Kyurem EX in this set, even though they don't use the exact same types of energy cards.  You really can't  go wrong with using either of these EX cards in your deck.

Black Kyurem EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Black Kyurem EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Black Kyurem EX Full Art from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Black Kyurem EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Black Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Dragon Fang, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one lightning, and does 60 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.  Black Kyurem EX's second move is called Freeze Shock, this move requires four energy cards, two lightning, and one each of water and colorless, this move does 150 damage, however Kyurem can't attack the turn after it uses this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Black Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Just a reminder, since this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Like the Black Kyurem card from this set, the EX version is pretty slow, so you'll want to keep this card on your bench and attach four energy cards to it.  Make sure to use this card in a lightning and water type deck.  I would avoid putting this card in the active Pokemon spot at all costs before it has at least three energy cards on it.  As soon as you get four energy cards on Black Kyurem EX Full Art, move it to the active Pokemon spot and start attacking.  You'll want to use Freeze Shock whenever you can unless 60 damage will knock out the depending Pokemon, that way you'll be able to attack consecutive turns.  So essentially this card can do 75 damage per turn using Freeze Shock or 60 damage per turn using Dragon Fang.  I would only include 1 Black Kyurem EX in a deck because it can do major damage in one turn, but because it can only do 150 max damage in two turns I wouldn't include more than 1 in a deck.  Just another note, unlike Lv. X cards where you leveled Pokemon up, EX cards can be used as basic Pokemon, so you do not need to put Black Kyurem in the game first and evolve it into Black Kyurem EX.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card that I would fit well in any dual type deck out there that had lightning and water type Pokemon.  The only things I don't like about this card is that it is slow, has a high retreat cost, and that it can only attack every two turns when using its most powerful move.  Other than that, this card has a high hp, two good moves, and will definitely knock out Pokemon very quickly with 150 damage.

Landorus EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Landorus EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Landorus EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is a basic, EX, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 180.  Landorus has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to lightning type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Landorus EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Its first move is called Hammerhead and for one fighting energy card this move does 30 damage plus 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Landorus' other move is called Land's Judgement, this move requires three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless, and does 80 damage plus 70 more damage if you discard all the fighting type energy cards on Landorus.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Landorus is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Before getting too far into the strategy, make sure to remember that if this card gets knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  With that being said, I would recommend using 1 Landorus EX Pokemon card in a dual type deck.  I would highly recommend using this card in a dual type deck instead of a single type deck, because the easier it is to attach non-fighting type energy cards to Landorus, the more likely it is you'll only have to discard two fighting energy cards from Landorus when using Land's Judgement instead of three.  I would recommend putting this card in the active Pokemon spot right away because it has a move that requires only 1 energy card and that move may be able to knock out several of your opponent's benched Pokemon by just using Hammerhead.  While using Hammerhead, keep attaching energy cards to Landorus so that you have two fighting energy cards and one other energy card on it so you can use Land's Judgement and do 80 damage, or if you have to knock out a Pokemon quicker than that you can discard both fighting energy cards and do 150 damage in one turn.  Definitely package this card into a spread damage type deck, thus making Hammerhead even more effective, I would also considering putting trainers in your deck to remove damage from Pokemon so you can have Landorus EX Full Art in the active Pokemon spot that much longer.  I would for sure make a deck around this EX card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a great EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set.  You really can't go wrong by using this card, it has a high hp, and two great moves, one quick that does a good amount of damage to more than one Pokemon, and one slower move that does above average damage every turn or extraordinary damage if you choose to discard energy cards. So again, definitely include a Landorus EX Pokemon card in a deck that partially includes fighting type Pokemon.

Cresselia EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Cresselia EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cresselia EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is a basic, EX, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 170.  Cresselia has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Cresselia EX's Ability is called Sparkling Particles and it says that between turns you may remove 10 damage from Cresselia EX.  Cresselia's only move is called Psychic Protection, this move requires four energy cards, one psychic and three colorless, and does 90 damage, and makes it so Cresselia EX Full Art does not have a weakness the next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Cresselia is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Before getting too far into the strategy, make sure to remember that if this card gets knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  With that being said, I would recommend using 1 Cresselia EX Pokemon card in almost any type deck, because its only move requires 75% colorless energy cards it fits well into any type deck.  I would try and keep this card on your bench until you get four energy cards on it, then put it into the active Pokemon spot and use Psychic Protection every turn, you should be able to last quite awhile in the active Pokemon spot without getting knocked out and be able to knock out quite a few Pokemon before having to retreat.  Because this is an EX card and it is extremely slow to attack, I would make sure to only have the one in a deck, but hope to play it late in a game and win the game with this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set.  Even though this card only has one move, and a slow move at that, I'm still giving this card an above average rating.  I really like this card's high hp, and its Ability makes this card seem like it has a higher hp than 170.  I don't like that this card has only one move and it requires four energy cards, but with a high hp and a low retreat cost, you can easily move this card out of the active Pokemon spot if you're forced to move it into that spot when you don't want to.  All in all, this is an excellent Pokemon card that is capable of doing a ton of damage every turn, once you take the time to get four energy cards on it.

Keldeo EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Keldeo EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Keldeo EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is the third of three consecutive Keldeo Pokemon cards that I'll be reviewing from this set.  The previous two Keldeo cards I have reviewed were both basic Pokemon and both pretty good.  Today's card is an EX card so if you want to when building a deck you may include 4 Keldeo and 4 Keldeo EX, but you'll have to read in the strategy section of this review to see what I suggest.  So Keldeo EX Full Art is a basic, EX, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 170.  Keldeo has a x2 damage to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Keldeo EX's Ability is called Rush In which says that once during your turn if you have Keldeo on your bench, you may move it into the active Pokemon spot without having to fork over energy cards by using the retreat cost of your active Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Keldeo EX has one move called Secret Sword which requires three energy cards, all colorless, and does 50 damage plus 20 more damage for each water energy card attached to Keldeo EX.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Keldeo is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Because Keldeo's only move requires three energy cards, I would set up Keldeo EX on the bench, get three energy cards on it, then when your active Pokemon gets in trouble, use Keldeo's Ability and retreat your active Pokemon spot for free and put in Keldeo EX.  Once Keldeo EX is in the active Pokemon spot, use Secret Sword every turn, make sure to attach three water energy cards to Keldeo EX so that this move can do 110 damage per turn.  I would definitely recommend building a deck based around this EX card, I would include this card in a water deck, and possibly include two Keldeo EX and two regular Keldeo.  I wouldn't include 4 of each because EX cards can make you lose the game incredibly fast if they're knocked out, and all the Keldeo cards require a good amount of water energy cards to attack so you'll really need to load your deck with water energy cards if you want to use 8 total Keldeos.  But if you use 2 and 2, or less, I would still make sure to have mostly water type Pokemon and energy cards in your deck so you can make Keldeo's moves that much better.  The Pokemon I would pair with Keldeo EX, could be Pokemon that have higher retreat costs since Keldeo's Ability acts as a free retreat cost to your active Pokemon, but I would also make sure to have a few Pokemon that can attack with only an energy card or two so you can attack quickly while loading up your Keldeo cards.  So again, I would definitely recommend using Keldeo EX in a water type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an excellent EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set and a great way to end my three days of reviewing Keldeo cards from this set.  This card is even better than the first Keldeo card I reviewed from this set, and I gave that card a 5/5 so this card really is even better than that.  Just remember to tread carefully with this card since if it gets knocked out your opponent gets two prize cards, but hopefully it won't matter if you can dominate your opponent using Keldeo EX.  Overall, I would give all the Keldeo cards in this set a 5/5 rating.

Celebi EX -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Celebi EX Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Celebi EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Celebi EX is a basic, EX, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to water type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Because Celebi is an EX card, if your opponent knocks this card out they get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Celebi's Ability is called Time Recall and it says that any of your evolved Pokemon in play can use moves from their previous evolutions.  Besides the Ability, Celebi EX has only one move called Wind Whisk which requires three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, and does 60 damage.  However, after using the move, this card must be switched to your bench and another card is moved into the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a basic Pokemon card you won't have to include this card with any other evolutions.  Because Celebi EX only has one move that when used retreats you to the bench, I would keep Celebi on the bench until it had three energy cards on it, then when there is a good opportunity to do so, move Celebi into the active Pokemon spot and use Win Whisk one turn which afterwards Celebi will be on the bench, and that's where I would leave it until another one of your Pokemon is either knocked out or retreats.  I would use this card primarily for its Ability, because of its Ability, I would build a deck that includes a fair amount of stage 1 and stage 2 Pokemon cards that require a lot of energy cards to attack, that way, I could evolve into those Pokemon, put them into the active Pokemon spot and still be able to attack with one of their previous evolutions.  I could definitely see myself using 1 Celebi EX card in a grass type deck, but I would mostly use this card for its Ability, it isn't good enough to be used for an attacker because its move is average and if knocked out, it will hurt you twice as much as other non EX Pokemon cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a pretty average basic Pokemon card, actually for an EX card it really isn't that great but overall it is average.  It has a decent hp, an average move, and a slightly above average Ability.  If you only need one more grass Pokemon card to put in your deck, this card wouldn't be tops on my list but it wouldn't be the worst card to put in either.
