Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Turtonator GX from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set. Turtonator GX is a Basic, Fire type Pokemon card, with a HP of 190. It has a x2 weakness to Water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three Colorless Energy card retreat cost. Turtonator GX does not have an Ability but it does have three moves. The first move that this card has is called Shell Trap, for two Colorless Energy cards, this move does 20 damage, plus, if Turtonator GX is attacked during your opponent's next turn, and even if it is knocked out, you may place 8 damage counters on the attacking Pokemon. Bright Flame is the name of Turtonator GX's second move, for three Energy cards, two Fire and one Colorless, this move does 160 damage, however after using the move you must discard 2 Fire Energy cards from Turtonator GX. This card's GX move is called Nitro Tank GX, for one Fire Energy card, you may search your discard pile for up to 5 Fire Energy cards and attach them to your Pokemon in any way that you'd like.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, first off, the way a Pokemon GX works is that it is used instead of a regular Turtonator card, so you do not need to first play Turtonator and then evolve it into Turtonator GX. In play, only one GX move can be used during the entire game, and once a Pokemon GX is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one. If you're building a majority Fire type deck or you need a card with a lot of power, I would highly recommend using this Turtonator GX card. For heavy Fire type decks, you could use Turtonator GX's GX move to retrieve discarded Fire Energy cards from the discard pile and set up your Bench. If you are looking for a powerful attacker in your deck, you could either do 100 damage total every turn for one Special Energy card with Shell Trap, or attach two Burning Energy cards to this card and do 160 damage a turn with Bright Flame. Regardless of the move you decide to use, this card is very powerful, and should for sure be included in Fire type decks. Because it is a little slower on the attack and on the retreat, and since you can only use GX moves once per game, you really don't need more than 2 of this card in a deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an excellent GX card from the Guardians Rising set. I usually prefer more powerful attacking cards, and this card is right up my alley! Being able to do a minimum of 100 damage every turn is pretty awesome, add in the fact that you can set up your Benched Pokemon very quickly with this card's GX move, and you'll see why I gave this card such a good rating.

I'd say true though it is not a bad looking card.
