Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klinklang from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set. Klinklang is a stage 2, metal type Pokemon card, with a HP of 140. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Klinklang's Ability is called Heavy Bumper and says that any damage done to Klinklang by your opponent's Pokemon is reduced 10 damage for each colorless energy card in that Pokemon's retreat cost. Besides the Ability, Klinklang has just one move called Gear Spinner, for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, this move does 70 damage, plus during Klinklang's next turn, Gear Spinner does 70 more damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klinklang is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Klink into play and then evolve it into Klang before you can evolve Klang into Klinklang, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days. If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average overall and together. Both Pokemon had below average HP and were somewhat slow on the attack, Klang was a little better in my opinion, but both Pokemon's main move required 4 coin flips so I recommended using those Pokemon only if you were already using 4 Trick Coin trainer cards in your deck. So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at Klinklang, if you're building a metal type deck, it may be worth it to use a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family. You could set the entire line up on the bench, get three energy cards on Klinklang, and if a Pokemon is moved to the active Pokemon spot by your opponent with a 3 or 4 colorless energy card retreat cost, you could move Klinklang to your active Pokemon spot, take advantage of its Ability, and proceed to do 210 damage every two turns.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set. This card, like Klink and Klang, does have a little below average HP, but it should be set up on the bench so it shouldn't have to sit long in the active Pokemon spot without attacking, like I said above, I like this card's Ability quite well, and when set up, this card does do above average damage every single turn. Combined with Klink and Klang from this set, I would give this entire line a 3 out of 5 rating, it is a line worth considering when deck building.
