Sealeo -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sealeo from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card set.  Sealeo is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sealeo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Freezing Headbutt, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of water and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus it paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Sealeo's second move is called Aurora Beam, this move requires three energy cards to use, two water and one colorless, and does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sealeo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Spheal cards from this set into play (I reviewed both of those cards the past two days) and then evolve Spheal into Sealeo.  Sealeo does have a stage 2 evolution in Walrein that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sealeo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my reviews of the Spheal cards from this set, you'll know that neither Spheal card was that great, the first card only having one move that may end up doing no damage at all, and the second Spheal card being an average Basic Pokemon card but just a little slower on the attack, so if I were to recommend using one of these two I would recommend the second one.  So knowing this about the two Spheal cards from this set and looking at Sealeo, I could potentially see using a 1-1 line of Spheal and Sealeo in this set, trying to get these two Pokemon cards set up early on in the game then being able to do 30 damage a turn with Freezing Headbutt and potentially paralyzing the defending Pokemon, thus letting Sealeo stay in the active Pokemon spot longer and giving your bench more time to get set up.  But more than likely, I wouldn't use this line in a deck without using Walrein, since both Spheal and Sealeo from this set aren't any better than average.  I am not a big fan of Aurora Beam since it does below average damage for the amount of energy cards it requires.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  I like Freezing Headbutt quite well on this card, but outside of that, Sealeo has a high retreat cost and an underwhelming second move, so overall this card definitely isn't above average, but it still does have an average HP and gives you two moves to work with.  So combined with the better Spheal card from this set, I can't give these two cards a higher than 3 out of 5 rating, you can find much better cards to use in your deck.
