Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Totodile from the Phantom Forces set. Totodile is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Totodile does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move that this card has is called Fury Strikes, for one water energy card this move does 10 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip three coins.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Totodile is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Croconaw and a stage 2 evolution in Feraligatr, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use those cards with this Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions. So on its own, I would not recommend using this card in a deck. I say this because I never want to have to depend on cards that depend on coin flips. I would much rather do a move that does 20 damage for sure each turn, than a move like Fury Strikes that could do 30 damage for only one energy card, but it may also do 0 damage per turn. If you do decide to use this card on its own, you could always attack Trick Coin to it and have two shots at trying to get as many heads as possible. In either case, the only thing you can do with this card is use Fury Strikes every single turn. If you can get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game and can flip 2 or 3 heads every turn, this card is pretty good and should do a fair amount of damage.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set. This card has everything a good Basic Pokemon card should have on it, like a solid HP and low retreat cost, but the only move it has is based on coin flips so that is why I'm giving this card a below average rating, it could be good, but I like not to have to worry about my Basic Pokemon when using them.
