Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cryogonal from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set. Cryogonal is a basic, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Cryogonal does not have an Ability and it only has one move. Its only move is called Ice Edge and for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 20 damage plus 20 more damage if you flip a coin and get a heads.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Cryogonal is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. This is a good water type Pokemon card to include in almost any water type deck because you can just include the one card, and play it whenever you need a basic Pokemon and a Pokemon that can attack fairly quickly and has the potential to do a good amount of damage. I would consider putting Cryogonal in the active Pokemon spot right away to start the game, even though it requires to energy cards to attack, with 90 hp it should be able to endure most basic Pokemon's attacks, then as soon as you get two energy cards on Cryogonal, just use Ice Edge every turn, hoping for some luck to do 40 damage. Since this card only has the one move, I wouldn't go overboard with these cards in a deck, I would just use this card if I needed one more Pokemon in a water type deck, because this card is very solid and will make a nice addition to your deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set. I like Cryogonal's high hp, it is quite similar to a stage 1 Pokemon's hp, I also like that it has an average move in Ice Edge but can become more than average if you flip a heads. Plus, with a low retreat cost, you can start this card at the beginning of the game, play a few turns with Cryogonal while setting up your bench, then retreat it quite easily and put a better Pokemon in the active spot.

When it's body temperature rises, it turns into steam and vanishes - this is the origin of Cryogonal knowing the move Acid Armor.
