Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Keldeo from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set. This is the first of three consecutive Keldeo Pokemon cards that I'll be reviewing from this set. I'll be concluding the Keldeo reviews with a review of Keldeo EX Full Art. So, this Keldeo card is a basic, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Keldeo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. Its first move is called Slicing Blade and for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 30 damage. Keldeo's second move is called Hydro Pump which requires three colorless energy cards and does 60 damage plus 10 more damage for each water energy card you have attached to Keldeo.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Keldeo is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. I would try and set up this Keldeo card on your bench, so you can get at least two water energy cards attached to it so when it is moved into the active Pokemon spot you can start attacking right away. I would always only attach water energy cards to this card so that when I use Hydro Pump it does 90 damage per turn instead of 60. Because of this, I would include this Keldeo card in a mostly, if not all, water type deck. As soon as you get three energy cards on Keldeo, make sure to use Hydro Pump every turn. I think this card is very solid, so I would include at least 2 of these in a deck, depending on how the other Keldeo cards from this set rate, I may include even more than 2.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an awesome basic Pokemon card. It has a high hp, low retreat cost, and two very good moves. Being able to do 90 damage every turn is really what makes me like this card, and for only three energy cards that makes this card even better that it is so fast, can do so much damage, and can retreat for little energy. I hope the next two Keldeo cards are as good as this one, but I doubt they will be. You'll just have to read those reviews to see for yourself.
