Breloom -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Breloom Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Breloom from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Breloom is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Breloom does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Giga Drain, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus you may heal the same amount of damage you did to the opposing Pokemon with this move from Breloom.  Breloom's second move is called Sky Uppercut, this move requires three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless, and does 70 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Breloom is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Shroomish into play (I reviewed Shroomish from this set about a month ago) and then evolve Shroomish into Breloom.  If you read my review of Breloom, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon mainly because it was very limited in what it could do, since it only had the one move that did 10 damage total, no Ability or anything else.  So when looking at this Breloom card to combine with that Shroomish card, the first thing you should notice is that these two Pokemon have different types, but even though Shroomish is a grass type card, it requires only colorless energy so you can easily use it in a fighting type deck.  Since Breloom is a decent card, I would recommend using a 1-1 or 2-2 line of these two Pokemon in a deck if you're building a fighting type one.  You could then start the game with Shroomish in the active Pokemon spot and then evolve it there into Breloom, or set up this Pokemon line on the bench.  Of course with this Breloom card, the move I would want to use would be Sky Uppercut because it does so much damage, but if you can knock out the defending Pokemon in 20 damage or less, make sure to use Giga Drain to heal damage from Breloom.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  I like how this card has an above average HP, lower retreat cost, and two moves, one being average (Giga Drain) and one being above average (Sky Uppercut).  This card could easily be used in a fighting type deck, and together with Shroomish from this set which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give a rating of 3 out of 5, it is an average Pokemon line overall.

Hitmonchan -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Hitmonchan Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hitmonchan from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Hitmonchan is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 90, it has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Hitmonchan does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Bullet Punch, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for each heads you get when you flip 2 coins, so they move could do up to 60 damage total.  Hitmonchan's second move is called Mach Cross, this move requires three energy cards to use, two colorless and one fighting, and does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hitmonchan is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, you can definitely use this card in a deck but it isn't as good of a card as yesterday's Hitmonlee.  I would potentially put 1 of this Hitmonchan card into a fighting type deck and get it into the active Pokemon spot somewhat early in the game.  I would get two energy cards on it first and use Bullet Punch, then use Mach Cross every turn after that.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very good Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  There isn't anything that I dislike about this card, it has a high HP, a low retreat cost, and two good moves.  This card is just a little bit worse than the Hitmonlee card I reviewed yesterday because it is a little slower, but overall I would highly recommend using this card in a deck.

Hypno -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Hypno Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hypno from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Hypno is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Hypno does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Hand Control, for one psychic energy card, you make your opponent show you their hand, choose one of the supporter cards in their hand, and make them use that card.  Hypno's second move is called Hypnoblast, for three psychic energy cards, this move does 60 damage plus puts your opponent's active Pokemon to sleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hypno is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Drowzee into play (I reviewed Drowzee from this set yesterday) and then evolve Drowzee into Hypno.  If you read yesterday's review of Drowzee, you'll know that I thought that card was an average Basic Pokemon card since it had an above average HP, and two decent moves.  Even though I gave it an average rating, I probably wouldn't use that card in a deck on its own, since it has a higher retreat cost.  So knowing this about Drowzee and looking at this Hypno card, I wouldn't recommend using this family at all, because Hypno is a slower Pokemon to use since you'll want to try and use Hypnoblast every turn and do 60 damage and put your opponent's active Pokemon to sleep.  Other than that move, I am not a big fan of Hand Control, so that is the main reason I would avoid using either of the two Pokemon in this family from this set, both are good on their own, but when you combine them, they just aren't that good.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average to slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  Just like Drowzee's review from this set, I am giving this card an average rating but still not recommending to use this card in a deck.  Even though this card has two moves, I don't really like Hand Control, and other than putting your opponent to sleep, Hypnoblast just does average damage.  So together with Drowzee, I am giving this line a 2 out of 5 rating, I would probably avoid this two cards when building a psychic type deck.

Minun -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Minun Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Minun from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Minun is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 70, it has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Minun does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Negative Discard, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you to put 2 energy cards from your discard pile into your hand.  Minun's second move is called Static Shock, this move requires one lightning type energy card and does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Minun is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, you could definitely use this card in a deck on its own, it would also work well with Plusle.  I would try and use this card fairly early in the game since it can do 20 damage for one energy card.  Ideally, I would get Plusle into the active Pokemon spot first, put one energy card on it, use Positive Hand two turns, then retreat Plusle and put Minun in, then I would use Negative Discard once to get the energy cards back that I discarded and then use Static Shock every turn.  I could easily see using 1 each of Plusle or Minun in a deck, or 2 of each separately.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  Like Plusle from yesterday, this card could definitely be used as a starter type Pokemon card, it has an above average HP, low retreat cost, and two very quick, and very solid moves.  So if you're building a lightning type deck, you can't go wrong with either Plusle or Minun in it.
