Talonflame -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Talonflame Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Talonflame from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Talonflame is a stage 2, colorless type Pokemon card, with a HP of 130.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a free retreat cost.  Talonflame's Ability is called Gale Wings and says that if Talonflame is in your hand when you're setting up to play, you may put it face down as your active Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Talonflame just has one move called Aero Blitz, for one colorless energy card this move does 40 damage, and allows you to search your deck for up to 2 cards and put them into your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Gale Wings prevents you from having to use the first two Pokemon in this evolution line, this section of my post is really out the window.  Both Fletchling and Fletchinder from this set were below average cards, both having low HP, but otherwise solid.  If you're going to use this line in a deck at all, you'll only want to use 4 Talonflame, no other Pokemon from this line, that gives you something like a 40% chance of getting Talonflame when you draw cards to start the game, you can then put a Stage 2 Pokemon in the active Pokemon, attach one energy card to it, and then worry about setting up your benched Pokemon.  This is a very popular strategy in the metagame right now, because if you hit with Talonflame, you can do 40 damage a turn for one energy card, you can search your deck for two cards every turn, and when you're done with Talonflame you can retreat it for free, plus, Talonflame BREAK can also be used with this card to make it even better.  Albeit, if you're a more conservative player and want to avoid risk, playing Talonflame isn't a great choice, because if you don't get Talonflame to start, and even if you do, you have essentially wasted 3 or 4 spots in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion if used by itself without Fletchling and Fletchinder, this card has the potential to be amazing, but like I mentioned above, with less than a 50% chance at actually using this card if you have 4 in a deck, it is either boom or bust with this card.  As a whole, this line would get a 3 out of 5 rating from me, but again, I would not play this whole line, I would keep Talonflame by itself.

Fletchinder -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Fletchinder Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Fletchinder from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Fletchinder is a Stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with a HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Fletchinder does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Glide that does 30 damage for one colorless energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Fletchinder is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fletchling into play (I reviewed Fletchling from this set yesterday) and then evolve Fletchling into Fletchinder.  Fletchinder does have a Stage 2 evolution in Talonflame, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Fletchinder is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Fletchling, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, all because of its low HP of 40.  Other than that, it could do above average damage for only one energy card, could be used in any type deck, and had a low retreat cost.  Knowing this about Fletchling and looking at this Fletchinder card, this card is very similar, in that it would be a great card to use in a deck if it had a higher HP, because for only one energy card this card can do 30 damage a turn.  So if you can use a trainer or Pokemon's Ability to give this card a higher HP, it is definitely worth it to use Fletchling and Fletchinder as starter type Pokemon in a deck, you could do major damage right away during a game for only one energy card and leave the rest of the energy cards in your deck for other Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, other than having a really low HP, this card is solid overall, same goes for Fletchling from this set.  So if you can figure out a way to increase the Pokemon in this line's HP, they are definitely worth using together in a deck, without HP improvement, I would give both cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Fletchling -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Fletchling Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Fletchling from the Steam Siege set.  Fletchling is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Fletchling does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Peck that does 20 damage for one colorless energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Fletchling is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Fletchinder, and a Stage 2 evolution in Talonflame, which I'll be reviewing the next couple of days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Fletchling does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, I can't recommend using this card in a deck, all because of its low HP, if this card had an HP of 60, I would highly recommend it as a starter type Pokemon since it can do above average damage every single turn with Peck.  So if you can figure out a way to increase this Pokemon's HP, via a trainer card or another Pokemon's Ability, this card definitely has some potential.  Otherwise, this card is a very limited, weak, Basic Pokemon card overall.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege Pokemon card set.  Even though this card has a really low HP, and only one move, since this card can fit into any type deck and do above average damage every turn, I am giving this card a slightly below average rating instead of my lowest rating.  But when deck building, unless you plan on using Fletchling with its evolution forms, look elsewhere for a Basic Pokemon to use.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Braviary -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Braviary Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Braviary from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Braviary is a Stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with a HP of 120. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Braviary does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Ambush, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus 50 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Braviary's second move is called Sky Drop and for three colorless energy cards this move does 120 damage minus 20 damage for each colorless energy in your opponent's Active Pokemon's retreat cost.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Braviary is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Rufflet into play (I reviewed Rufflet from this set yesterday) and then evolve Rufflet into Braviary.  If you read yesterday's review of Rufflet, you'll know that I thought it was a below average card overall.  It did have a solid HP, and a decent attacking move, but was slow with only one attack and that attack did damage to itself every turn.  So knowing this about Rufflet and looking at this Braviary card, I would recommend using no more of a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck and setting up on the bench.  That way, you can avoid doing damage to Rufflet, and you can get three energy cards on this card and pick and choose your spots to use Sky Drop, the weaker the Pokemon the easier it will be for Sky Drop to do more damage, since weaker Pokemon usually have lower retreat costs.  While this definitely isn't a card to take down Pokemon EX, it is one that should be considered when deck building.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Overall, this card has a well above average HP and two good moves, both doing damage, and both having potential to do well above average damage.  Because both Rufflet and Braviary can be used in any type decks, I would give these two cards a 3 out of 5 rating combined.

Rufflet -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Rufflet Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rufflet from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Rufflet is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rufflet does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Reckless Charge and for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage, however the move also does 10 damage to Rufflet.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rufflet is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Braviary, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, since this is a colorless type Pokemon card and can use any type of energy to attack, there is merit to at least consider using one of these cards when deck building.  If you can get Rufflet into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, it can do a fair amount of damage right away.  However, you'll either have to retreat Rufflet pretty quickly, evolve it, or somehow remove its self-inflicted damage, if you can do any of those things this card is solid overall, otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Braviary, this is an average to slightly below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, this card potentially could be used in a deck, since it can do 20 damage per turn, has a solid HP, and a low retreat cost, but because of its self inflicted damage and the fact it only has one move, this card isn't that great and shouldn't be a staple in a lot of decks.

Ambipom -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Ambipom Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ambipom from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Ambipom is a Stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Ambipom does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Furry Chance, for one colorless energy card, this move does 20 damage plus 60 more damage if when discarding the top card of your opponent's deck the card discarded is an energy card.  Ambipom's second move is called Double Hit and for three colorless energy cards this move does 50 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 2 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ambipom is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Aipom into play (I reviewed Aipom from this set yesterday) and then evolve Aipom into Ambipom.  If you read yesterday's review of Aipom, you'll know that I thought it was an average card overall.  Since it was a colorless type card it could fit into any deck, it had two moves, one that could do 20 damage and the other that could reorganize the top 3 cards of the opponent's deck.  So knowing this about Aipom from this set and looking at this Ambipom card, if you are going to use this line in a deck, I would recommend only using a 1-1 or 2-2 line of this family.  Definitely try and use Trick Coin trainer cards and Double Colorless energy cards.  Ideally, you would use Aipom's Fiddle Around move to rearrange the cards in your opponent's deck the turn before you use Ambipom so that you have the best chance of doing 80 damage with Furry Chance.  Other than that, Double Hit can do major damage every turn, but needs some luck, that is why you'll want to use the Trick Coin trainer with this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, this card works well with the Aipom from this set, and if used in this way, has potential to do major damage with both of its moves.  Together with Aipom from this set, which I gave a 3 out of 5 rating, I would give these cards a 3 out of 5 rating, if you're looking for some colorless type Pokemon for your deck, I would give these two Pokemon a shot.

Aipom -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Aipom Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Aipom from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Aipom is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Aipom does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Fiddle Around, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to look at the top 3 cards of your opponent's deck and arrange them in any order.  Aipom's second move is called Tail Jab and for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Aipom is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Ambipom, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card could definitely be used as a starter type Pokemon in any type deck, since it requires only colorless energy cards and can use both moves it has with only one Double Colorless energy cards.  You'll want to get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game because then you can mess with your opponent's deck and move the energy cards or Basic Pokemon to the back of those three cards to make them have a slow start to the game.  Like yesterday, this card can't do any damage for one Basic energy card, but Tail Jab is still average overall.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Ambipom, this is an average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Really there isn't anything too negative or positive with this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two solid moves.  So like I said above, this card would be best used as a starter type Pokemon, so I wouldn't include more than 1 in a deck unless you're using it with Ambipom.

Persian -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Persian Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Persian from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Persian is a Stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Persian does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Raid, for one colorless energy card this move does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if you just evolved Meowth into Persian the same turn you're using this move.  Persian's second move is called Fury Swipes and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when flipping 3 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Persian is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Meowth into play (I reviewed Meowth from this set yesterday) and then evolve Meowth into Persian.  If you read yesterday's review of Meowth, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card.  Even though it required only colorless energy cards to attack, had a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, I gave this card a below average rating because one of the two moves it had only worked the first turn of the game, after that, Meowth could only do 20 damage a turn for two energy cards.  So knowing this about Meowth and looking at this Persian card, this card follows in the footsteps of Meowth, in that it has solid stats all of the way around plus two moves.  Both moves on Persian are quick on the attack and can do major damage, but you'll need a little more than normal to do maximum damage with both moves.  If you're looking for filler Pokemon for your deck, I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family, otherwise, use at least one Trick Coin trainer in your deck and one Double Colorless energy card, that way you have a better chance at doing 90 damage a turn for only one energy card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, this card is pretty solid all of the way around, solid HP, low retreat cost, two average moves.  So although I wouldn't go out of my way to put this Pokemon line in a deck, together the two Pokemon get a 3 out of 5 rating from me, so they definitely merit consideration when deck building.

Meowth -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Meowth does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Stall, for one colorless energy card this move, this move allows you to discard an energy attached to one of your opponent's Pokemon, however, this move can only be used during your first turn and only if you go second.  Meowth's second move is called Scratch, for two colorless energy cards, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowth is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Persian, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you have a set of 4 Double Colorless energy cards in your deck, I would pass on using this card.  If you are using Double Colorless energy, you could use this card as a starter type Pokemon and do 20 damage your first turn.  Stall doesn't do much for me, outside of only being able to use it your first turn of the game, it still only has a 50% chance of being able to be used, plus your opponent may not have any energy on their Pokemon anyway.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  There is really nothing terrible about this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, but this card is somewhat slow on the attack and there are just better Basic Pokemon cards out there to use.

Hydreigon BREAK -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Hydreigon BREAK Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hydreigon BREAK from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Hydreigon, so basically this card is a Stage 3 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Hydreigion BREAK is a BREAK, dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 190.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Hydreigon you're evolving it from.  Hydreigon BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one moved called Calamity Blast and for four energy cards, one psychic and colorless and two darkness, this move does 150 damage, however when using this move you must discard three energy cards attached to Hydreigon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hydreigon BREAK is a stage 3 Pokemon card you'll have to get Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon into play before being able to use this card.  If you look specifically at the Pokemon in this set, I was disappointed with all three cards, giving those three cards together a 1 out of 5 rating, none of the cards had that great of moves and most were slow on the attack.  So knowing this about the Hydreigon line from this set and looking at this Hydreigon card, the first thing I would recommend is using a different set's versions of this line to improve them, however, this card requires psychic and darkness type energy, the same as the ones from Steam Siege.  So the strategy for this card is similar to that of Hydreigon, use a 1-1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family and attach energy to this card on the bench, then when you need a Pokemon knocked out in one turn, move this card to the active Pokemon spot, use Calamity Blast once, and then retreat Hydreigon the next turn.  The advantage this card has over Hydreigon is the fact it can also spread damage around.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average BREAK Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though this card can do a good amount of damage every turn, not only to the defending Pokemon, but two benched Pokemon, this card is extremely slow to set up and needs a ton of energy re-attached to it to continue to attack.  So overall, I cannot recommend using this Pokemon family from Steam Siege in a deck, still giving this entire line a 1 out of 5 rating.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
So thanks for reading today's Pokemon card review of Hydreigon BREAK from the Steam Siege set, stay tuned for tomorrow's card review of Meowth, which is from this same set.  Make sure to check below for the Free Pokemon TCG Online Codes!

Hydreigon -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Hydreigon Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hydreigon from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Hydreigon is a stage 2, dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 150.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Hydreigon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Cruel Fang, for two colorless energy cards this move does 40 damage, plus any damage done to your Pokemon during your opponent's next turn is reduced by 40.  Hydreigon's second move is called Dark Burn, for three energy cards, one each of psychic, darkness, and colorless, this move does 50 damage times the number of darkness energy cards you discard from Hydreigon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hydreigon is a Stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Deino into play and then evolve it into Zweilous before you can evolve Zweilous into Hydreigon, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average overall and even worse together.  Both cards had two moves and solid HP, but both cards were somewhat slow on the attack and were under-powered overall.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Hydreigon card, this card is similar to the first two cards, in that this card has a solid HP and two moves, but is slow on the attack and is under-powered.  Especially for a Stage 2 Pokemon, being able to do a guaranteed 40 damage per turn is pretty pathetic.  Plus, to use Dark Burn you need three different energy types and you need to discard at least one energy card to do any damage.  So the only way to use this line in a deck, would be in a psychic and darkness dual type deck and using a 1-1-1 line of this family.  You could put a ton of energy cards on this card on the bench, and then when you need to knock out a Pokemon in one turn, you could move Hydreigon to the active Pokemon spot and use Dark Burn, discarding 4 or more Darkness energy cards, then retreating Hydreigon the next turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very poor Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Not only will this card take a long time to set up since it is a Stage 2 evolution, but this card is under-powered when properly set up and can only do a fair amount of damage once without having to wait and re-attach energy cards.  So overall, I am not a fan of this Pokemon line, giving this family a 1 out of 5 rating overall.

Zweilous -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Zweilous is a Stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Double Hit, for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 2 coins.  Zweilous' second move is called Power Breath and for three energy cards, one each of psychic, darkness, and colorless, this move does 80 damage, however you must discard an energy attached to Zweilous after attacking.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Deino into play (I reviewed Deino from this set yesterday) and then evolve Deino into Zweilous.  Zweilous does have a Stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Zweilous is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Deino, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, it was solid in the fact it had an average HP and two moves, but it was slow on the attack, had a higher retreat cost, and just didn't really have anything that great about it.  So knowing this about Deino and looking at this Zweilous card, this card is pretty similar in that it has a solid HP and two moves, but just isn't that good overall.  I definitely don't like coin flip based moves and that is exactly what Double Hit is, so instead of using that move I would want to use Power Breath, which does do above average damage, but requires two distinct types of energy to attack and makes you discard an energy when attacking.  So unless Hydreigon from this set is really good, I don't see any reason to use the first two Pokemon in this line in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, this card has a solid HP and two moves, but neither move that this card has is very good, one could do zero damage every turn and the other discards an energy.  Together with Deino from this set, which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give both cards a 1 out of 5 rating, do not use them in a deck on their own.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Deino -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Deino Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Deino from the Steam Siege set.  Deino is a basic, dragon type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Deino does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Roar, for one colorless energy card this move makes your opponent switch their active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon.  Deino's second move is called Headbutt Bounce and for two energy cards, one each of psychic and darkness, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Deino is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Zweilous, and a Stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, which I'll be reviewing the next couple of days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Deino does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck.  I say this because even though this card has two moves and a solid HP, this card requires two distinct energy types to attack and without a reason to switch your opponent's active Pokemon often, Roar has no use.  Potentially, this card could be used in a spread attack type deck, where you could first use Roar to have your opponent put a new Pokemon into their active Pokemon spot, do some damage to that Pokemon, then use Roar again, then after you've done this several turns, move a Pokemon into your active Pokemon spot that can do 20 or more damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon or a card that can do major damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon, that way giving you a good chance at knocking out a Pokemon each turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege Pokemon card set.  In the right deck, this card is definitely useful and it could be a good start to this entire line, but on its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck, it is slow to do damage, and its first move requires less energy than its retreat cost.

Druddigon -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Druddigon Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Druddigon from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Druddigon is a basic, dragon type Pokemon card with a HP of 120, it has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Druddigon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Proud Fang, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus 60 more damage if your opponent has any BREAK Pokemon in play.  Druddigon's second move is called Giga Claw, for three energy cards, one each of water, fire, and colorless, this move does 100 damage, however when using this move, you must flip two coins, if both are tails, this move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Druddigon is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, the main reason to use this card in a deck is to prevent your opponent from using BREAK cards in the active Pokemon spot and if they do have one there, being able to do 80 damage a turn for one Double Colorless energy card.  Giga Claw doesn't do much for me, yes it does do above average damage, but it may do no damage at all and it requires three different energy cards to attack.  So, when deck building, I could see using 1 of these cards just to prevent BREAK cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though this card is getting a below average rating from me, if used against BREAK cards or in a water and fire dual type deck, this card can be pretty good.  But without those situations, this card is slow on the attack and under-powered.

Xerneas BREAK -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Xerneas BREAK Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas BREAK from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Xerneas, so basically this card is a Stage 1 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Xerneas BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 1), fairy type Pokemon card, with a HP of 150.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Xerneas you're evolving it from.  Xerneas BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one moved called Life Stream, for two fairy energy cards this move does 20 damage times the number of energy attached to all of your Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Xerneas BREAK is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Xerneas into play before you can use this card  If you read my review of Xerneas from this set, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall, I liked the idea of using it as a starter type Pokemon since it could move energy cards from your deck to your benched Pokemon, but it also could do major damage by doing 100 damage a turn for 3 energy cards.  So knowing this about Xerneas and looking at this Xerneas BREAK card, these two cards work very well together.  I would either wait until later in the game when your Pokemon are set up and have multiple energy cards on them to use this card in the active Pokemon spot, doing major damage with Life Stream, or you could use Xerneas as a starter type Pokemon, use its move to get energy cards onto your benched Pokemon, and then use Xerneas BREAK's move to do major damage, the second route is much slower, so if you plan on using the BREAK form of Xerneas, keep it on the bench, or have a 2-2 line of this Pokemon family and use just Xerneas first, retreat it, and put Xerneas BREAK into play later.  Regardless, if you're building a fairy type deck, this line of Xerneas should definitely be in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good BREAK card from the Steam Siege set.  If used with Xerneas from the Steam Siege set, this line should be used in almost every fairy type deck out there.  Together, I will give these two cards a 4 out of 5 rating, these cards can be used as starter type Pokemon, used as a major attacker, and can also be used to quickly set up your bench.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
So thanks for reading today's Pokemon card review of Xerneas BREAK from the Steam Siege set, stay tuned for tomorrow's card review of Druddigon, which is from this same set.  Make sure to check below for the Free Pokemon TCG Online Codes!

Xerneas -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Xerneas Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Xerneas is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 130, a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Xerneas does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Geomancy, for one fairy energy card, this move allows you to attach one fairy type energy card to 2 of your benched Pokemon.  Xerneas' second move is called Rainbow Spear and for three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless, this move does 100 damage, however after attacking, you must discard an energy attached to this card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Xerneas is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card does have a BREAK evolution which I'll be reviewing tomorrow that you may want to use with this card.  On its own, the main reason you'll want to use Xerneas is in a heavy fairy type deck and as a starter type Pokemon so that you can use Geomancy and get your fairy type Pokemon set up very quickly.  It may be worth it to use Rainbow Spear once, then use a Switch trainer to retreat Xerneas since it wouldn't make sense to keep discarding energy cards while using this move.  So without knowing anything about Xerneas BREAK, I could still see using this card in a deck, like I said, early in the game, to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has a very good HP, and two solid moves, one that can help your benched Pokemon and the other that can dole out major damage to the defending Pokemon.  The only downside with this card is that you have to discard an energy card when doing damage, but other than that, it should be considered when creating a fairy type deck.

Klefki -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Klefki Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klefki from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Klefki is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 70, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klefki's Ability is called Wonder Lock and says that if Klefki is on your bench, you may choose to discard all cards attached to it, and then use Klefki as a Pokemon Tool card, the Pokemon card this card is attached to is prevented from being attacked by Mega EX Pokemon.  After one use of this Ability, Klefki must be discarded.  Besides the Ability, Klefki just has one move called Fairy Wind, this move does 30 damage for two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klefki is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, the main reason you'll want to use this card in a deck is for its Ability, since you can use this card to prevent Mega EX cards from attacking your active Pokemon.  If you're using Klefki in this fashion, I could see using up to 4 of these in a deck, or use less but use Trainer cards to get them back into play from the discard pile.  Besides the Ability, Fairy Wind is a solid move, but not one that makes this card that important to use when deck building.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though there really isn't anything special about the one move that this card has, or its somewhat low HP of 70, this card is above average based solely on its Ability and its function as a Pokemon Tool card.  With Mega Pokemon very popular in the TCG, this is a great way to do damage to them while not taking any damage from your active Pokemon.  So, this card is a Mega EX stopper and can be used in any type deck.

Mega Gardevoir EX -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Mega Gardevoir EX Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of M Gardevoir EX from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Mega Gardevoir EX is a Mega Evolution, EX, fairy and psychic dual type Pokemon card with a HP of 210. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mega Gardevoir EX does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Despair Ray, for two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless, this move does 110 damage plus 10 more damage for each benched Pokemon of yours you decide to discard.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
Before I start with the strategy, remember that this card is a Mega Evolution card and an EX card so if you use this card in your deck and it gets knocked out, your opponent gets to take two prize cards instead of one and when you evolve an EX card into its Mega Evolution, your turn ends, you cannot do anything else.  So knowing these things, you'll always want to use Mega Evolution cards with caution, with that being said, you'll always want to use the appropriate Spirit Link trainer card do evolve the EX card into its Mega EX form so you don't have to end your turn.  So knowing how Mega EX cards worth and knowing that Gardevoir EX from this set is a little below average, I would probably pass on using this line as a whole in your deck.  The only time is it feasible to use this line in a deck would be if you have a way to quickly move Pokemon from your discard pile back into your hand.  That way, you could use Mega Gardevoir's Despair Ray every turn, doing above 110 damage, and then the next turn, get those same Pokemon you just discarded back onto the bench, by doing this, you could do major damage every turn, but you could also remove any damage that was previously on those benched Pokemon.  Either way, I can't see using more than a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Mega EX Pokemon card on its own.  I do like that this card can attack fairly quickly and do a good amount of damage, like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, if you can find a way to quickly move Pokemon from your discard pile back to your bench, this card could be pretty unstoppable.  Together with Gardevoir EX from this set, I would give these two cards a 3 out of 5 rating, average overall.

Gardevoir EX -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Gardevoir EX Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gardevoir EX from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Gardevoir EX is a basic, EX, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gardevoir EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Link Blast, for two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 70 more damage if both you and your opponent have the same number of energy attached to your active Pokemon.  Gardevoir EX's second move is called Luminous Blade and for three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless, this move does 120 damage, however an energy card must be discarded after using this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Gardevoir EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Gardevoir EX does have a Mega EX in this set, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, so you'll want to make sure and read that review.  On its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck, unless you plan on keeping it on the bench, attaching 4 or 5 energy cards to it and then fine with having to discard an energy card each time you attack.  Gardevoir EX's Link Blast move may do 100 damage once, but most times it will do 30 damage, which is pretty poor for an EX Pokemon's attacks.  Whereas Luminous Blade is a powerful move, discarding an energy each turn is definitely something that needs to be considered before playing this card in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though this card does have two moves, both doing damage, this card has a somewhat high retreat cost, lower HP, and neither of its moves are that great, both have potential, but there are caveats with both, meaning, I would look elsewhere when building a fairy type deck.

Azumarill -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Azumarill Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Azumarill from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Azumarill is a Stage 1, fairy and water type Pokemon card, with a HP of 100. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Azumarill does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Play Rough, for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Azumarill's second move is called Bubble Drain, for three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless, this move does 80 damage, and you're able to heal 30 damage from Azumarill.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Azumarill is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Marill into play (I reviewed Marill from this set yesterday) and then evolve Marill into Azumarill.  If you read yesterday's review of Marill, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Although it only had one move that could do 10 damage total, I liked that the card could heal damage from itself and attack to only one energy card.  So knowing this about Marill and looking at this Azumarill card, if you're building a fairy type deck, I definitely think it is fine to include at least a 2-2 line of this family in your deck.  You could use Marill as a starter type Pokemon or set this line up on the bench.  Either way, you'll want to eventually use Bubble Drain every turn, doing above average damage every turn and healing damage from Azumarill.  You could also attach a Double Colorless energy card to this card and attack for only one energy card, and do up to 60 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has an above average HP and two solid moves.  This card can fit well into most decks out there because it mainly requires colorless energy cards to attack.  I like that this card can dole out major damage as well as heal damage from itself.  Together with Marill from this set, I would give both cards a 4 out of 5 rating, combined, these cards are better than used individually.

Marill -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Marill Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Marill from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Marill is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Marill does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Bubble Drain, for one fairy energy card this move does 10 damage, plus it heals 10 damage from Marill.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Marill is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Azumarill, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card could work well as a starter type Pokemon in a fairy type deck.  You could get it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game and attack for only one energy card, and assuming your opponent is playing a weaker starter Pokemon as well, Bubble Drain would remove the damage done by your opponent, thus giving you plenty of time to set up your benched Pokemon.  So, while I wouldn't go all in on this card without using Azumarill, in a majority fairy type deck, I could definitely see using 1 or 2 of these in it.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Azumarill, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Outside of just being limited in what it can do, with only one move that does 10 damage a turn, this card is solid overall, with a good HP, low retreat cost, and a quick move that heals damage from Marill.  So like I mentioned above, if you're building a fairy type deck, this card is worth consideration.

Magearna EX -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Magearna EX Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Magearna EX from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Magearna EX is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with a HP of 160. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Magearna EX's Ability is called Mystic Heart and says that all effects of attacks, excluding damage, done to any of your Pokemon that have metal energy attached to them are prevented.  Besides the Ability, Magearna EX has one move called Soul Blaster, for three energy cards, two colorless and one metal, this move does 120 damage, however during Magearna's next turn, this move only does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Magearna EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Magearna EX, it would make most sense to use this card in a heavily metal type deck, that way you can utilize its Ability and help all Pokemon in play with metal type energy cards attached to them.  Other than that, this card can hit pretty hard, doing 120 damage a turn and 180 damage in two turns.  Even with 60 base damage a turn, it is an average move.  So, overall, I would recommend playing this card in a metal type deck, and if desperate enough, you could definitely play this card in almost all type decks since it requires mainly colorless energy.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has a solid Ability, above average move, and a low retreat cost.  This card works well in metal type decks, can do major damage and help other Pokemon in play as well.  So, you can't go wrong by including this card in your deck.

Cobalion -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Cobalion Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cobalion from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Cobalion is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with a HP of 120, it has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Cobalion does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Quick Guard, for one metal energy card, this move prevents all damage done to Cobalion from your opponent's Basic Pokemon during their next turn.  Cobalion's second move is called Revenge Blast and for two metal energy cards, this move does 30 damage, plus 30 more damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Cobalion is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, since this card only requires metal type energy to attack, you're going to have to use it in a majority metal type deck.  You could either use this card as a starter type Pokemon, get it into the active Pokemon spot and use Quick Guard every turn to give yourself time to set up your benched Pokemon while the opponent can't attack, or the other option would be to set this card up on the bench and put it into the active Pokemon spot when you are about to lose the game, therefore having Revenge Blast do 150 to 180 damage a turn for only two energy cards.  Either way, this card has some potential, and should definitely be considered for a metal type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned a couple of times above, if you're building a metal type deck, this card is definitely one to consider, it has a high HP, and two solid moves, and the card can be used almost any time throughout the game.

Klinklang -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Klinklang Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klinklang from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Klinklang is a stage 2, metal type Pokemon card, with a HP of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klinklang's Ability is called Heavy Bumper and says that any damage done to Klinklang by your opponent's Pokemon is reduced 10 damage for each colorless energy card in that Pokemon's retreat cost.  Besides the Ability, Klinklang has just one move called Gear Spinner, for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, this move does 70 damage, plus during Klinklang's next turn, Gear Spinner does 70 more damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klinklang is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Klink into play and then evolve it into Klang before you can evolve Klang into Klinklang, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average overall and together.  Both Pokemon had below average HP and were somewhat slow on the attack, Klang was a little better in my opinion, but both Pokemon's main move required 4 coin flips so I recommended using those Pokemon only if you were already using 4 Trick Coin trainer cards in your deck.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at Klinklang, if you're building a metal type deck, it may be worth it to use a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family.  You could set the entire line up on the bench, get three energy cards on Klinklang, and if a Pokemon is moved to the active Pokemon spot by your opponent with a 3 or 4 colorless energy card retreat cost, you could move Klinklang to your active Pokemon spot, take advantage of its Ability, and proceed to do 210 damage every two turns.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This card, like Klink and Klang, does have a little below average HP, but it should be set up on the bench so it shouldn't have to sit long in the active Pokemon spot without attacking, like I said above, I like this card's Ability quite well, and when set up, this card does do above average damage every single turn.  Combined with Klink and Klang from this set, I would give this entire line a 3 out of 5 rating, it is a line worth considering when deck building.

Klang -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Klang Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klang from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Klang is a Stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klang does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Vice Grip and does 30 damage for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless.  Klang's second move is called Disorderly Flip and for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, this move does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 4 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klang is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Klink into play (I reviewed Klink from this set yesterday) and then evolve Klink into Klang.  Klang does have a Stage 2 evolution in Klinklang, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Klang is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Klink, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the card definitely had some potential to do a good amount of damage for very little energy, but the card itself had a low HP and a high retreat cost, and its only move was based off of coin flips.  So knowing this about Klink and looking at this Klang card, this card is similar in that it has a below average HP, a higher retreat cost, yet has the potential to do well above average damage.  If you decide to use Klang in a deck it would be for its Disorderly Flip move, since it can do up to 120 damage per turn for three energy cards, just like with Klink, you'll want to make sure you have 4 Trick Coin trainer cards in your deck if you are using Klang, because that will give you the best shot at doing major damage.  So, the only way I would recommend using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family is with that full line of Trick Coin trainers.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This Stage 1 card has a below average HP, higher retreat cost, yet two solid moves, making it usable in a deck, but not the greatest card out there to use.  Together with Klink from this set, which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give these two cards a 2 out of 5 rating, like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, if you're using Trick Coin trainers or if you don't mind coin flip based moves, this is a usable line.

Klink -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Klink Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klink from the Steam Siege set.  Klink is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with a HP of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klink does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Disorderly Flip and for one metal energy card this move does 10 damage times the number of heads you get when flipping 4 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klink is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Klang, and a Stage 2 evolution in Klinklang, which I'll be reviewing the next couple of days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Klink does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, unless you are using 4 Trick Coin trainer cards, there really isn't a reason to use this card in a deck, since it has a lower HP, higher retreat cost, and its only move is based off of coin flips.  If you can for sure attach a Trick Coin trainer to this card as the starter Pokemon in your deck, 30 or 40 damage a turn with Disorderly Flip can really do a lot against weaker Basic Pokemon.  If you're using a full set of Trick Coin trainers, I could potentially see using 1 of these Klink cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege Pokemon card set.  The only reason this card gets better than a 1 out of 5 rating is for its potential to do up to 40 damage per turn for only one energy card.  Outside of that, this card has a low HP and a high retreat cost, and just isn't that great overall.
