Probopass -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Probopass Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Probopass from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Probopass is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with a HP of 120. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a four colorless energy card retreat cost.  Probopass does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Bounce Back, for one fighting energy card this move does 40 damage, plus your opponent must switch their active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon.  Probopass' second move is called Rock Tomb, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, this move does 80 damage, and it makes the defending Pokemon unable to retreat during its next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Probopass is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Nosepass into play (I reviewed Nosepass from this set yesterday) and then evolve Nosepass into Probopass.  If you read yesterday's review of Nosepass, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The card did have a good HP, and two moves, but neither move that the card had was very good, and its retreat cost was two colorless energy cards instead of just one.  This Probopass card profiles similarly to that card, in that it has a high HP, two moves, and a high retreat cost.  Rock Tomb is a solid move on Probopass, and you could use it for only two energy cards if you use a Double Colorless energy with it, but, unless you have a Switch trainer, you're going to have to add energy just to retreat it.  Bounce Back is a good move for spread attack type decks, but the high retreat cost on this card makes it hard to just use Probopass for that move.  Altogether, I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck, setting up the line on the bench and then either battling until Probopass is knocked out, or working out a way to retreat it for free.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Outside of having an extremely high retreat cost, this card is solid overall, with a high HP, and two good moves.  Together with Nosepass from this set, which I gave a 2 rating, this line combined gets a 3 out of 5 rating.
