Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zapdos from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set. Zapdos is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 120, it has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Zapdos does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Drill Peck, this move requires one lightning energy card to use and does 20 damage. Zapdos's second move is called Raging Thunder, this move requires three energy cards to use, two lightning and one colorless, and does 120 damage, however this move does do 40 damage to one of your benched Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zapdos is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. With that being said, the move you want to use this card for is Raging Thunder, it does major damage for only three energy cards but you need to plan around the 40 damage it does to your own Pokemon, so either do not have any Pokemon on your bench, very risky, or have a way to heal damage from all of your Pokemon at once, I know there are cards out there that can heal 20 damage a time from each of your own Pokemon, or you could also put a Pokemon on the bench with an extremely high HP, like a Wailord can, and just keep doing 40 damage a turn to that card. Because Zapdos does do damage to your own Pokemon, I would only use 1 of these in a deck if you use it at all.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set. This card does have a high HP and two moves, one being average and the other being above average, but because Zapdos does a ton of damage to your own Pokemon, I had to reduce the rating I gave to this card. If you like to play with some risk, this is definitely a card to consider for a lightning type deck.
