Slurpuff -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Slurpuff Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Slurpuff from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Slurpuff is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Slurpuff's Ability is called Tasting and says that once per turn you may draw a card, if Slurpuff is in the active Pokemon spot you can draw two cards total.  Besides the Ability, Slurpuff just has one move called Light Pulse, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, and does 60 damage plus it prevents all effects of an attack other than damage done to Slurpuff during your opponent's next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Slurpuff is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Swirlix into play (I reviewed Swirlix from this set yesterday) and then evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff.  If you read yesterday's review of Swirlix, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because the only damage it could do required two energy cards instead of one, because other than that the card had a decent HP, low retreat cost, and two moves.  So knowing this about Swirlix and looking at this Slurpuff card, I could see using a 1-1 line of Swirlix and Slurpuff in a fairy type deck.  I wouldn't include too many of either Pokemon because neither Pokemon is that great, I would use Slurpuff mainly for its Ability allowing me to draw an extra card every single turn.  The one move that Slurpuff does have is about average for requiring three energy cards, but since this is only a Stage 1 card, and only has 90 HP, I would look elsewhere if you want to use a move that does 90 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  This card has an average HP, above average Ability, average move, and low retreat cost.  It is about as solid of a card you'll find out there, but it doesn't do anything special therefore I am giving this card just an average rating.  Together with Swirlix from this set, I'll give them a 3 out of 5 rating, they could definitely be used in a deck, but only as fillers if you don't have better Pokemon to use.
