Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Purrloin from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set. Purrloin is a basic, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 50. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Purrloin does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move that this card has is called Fake Out, for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Purrloin is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Liepard, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own if you're desperate for one more Basic Pokemon to use in your darkness type deck, this card could work well, especially early on in the game. Despite having a lower HP, this card's only move is quick and not only does damage but could paralyze the defending Pokemon making more time for you to set up your benched Pokemon. So strategy with this card would be to get it into the active Pokemon spot early and use Fake Out every turn. Like I mentioned, do not use more than one of these in a deck because this card is quite limited with only one move and a lower HP.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Purrloin, this card is a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card. This card could be used in a deck on its own, but because it only has 50 HP, I would recommend looking elsewhere. If you decide to use this Purrloin card with Liepard, it definitely is a good card to use because it can attack quickly and paralyze your opponent, but on its own, it is just too limited of a card.
