Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dialga EX and Dialga EX Full Art secret rare from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set. Dialga EX is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Dialga does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Chrono Wind, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one metal, and does 60 damage, plus if the defending Pokemon is an EX, it can't attack during their next turn. Dialga's second move is called Full Metal Impact and this move requires four energy cards to use, two each of metal and colorless, and does 150 damage per turn, however after using the move you must discard two metal energy cards attached to Dialga.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Dialga EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card. But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one. So knowing this about Dialga EX, I would mainly want to obtain this card, especially the secret rare version to keep in my collection, because ultimately this EX card just isn't that good. I wouldn't recommend using the card in your deck, but I suppose you could include one in a metal type deck and get at least three energy cards on it on the bench, that way, it may prevent your opponent from wanting to use an EX since you can prevent it from attacking by using Chrono Wind. You could also try and put 4 or 6 energy cards on Dialga so you could use Full Metal Impact multiple turns and potentially one hit knock out two Pokemon in a row. If you could figure out a way to quickly reattach the cards you have to discard with this move to Dialga, this card would be much better and make an awesome deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, besides being a really cool looking Full Art card, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck and consider it a below average EX Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set. Besides having a high HP and being able to do 150 damage per turn, this card is slow on the attack and can only do average damage every turn without having to discard any energy cards. So if you're building a metal type deck, this card is worth a look, but I wouldn't consider it very long.
