Bronzong -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Bronzong Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bronzong from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Bronzong is a stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Bronzong's Ability is called Metal Links and allows you once per turn to move a metal energy card from your discard pile to one of your benched Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Bronzong just has one move called Hammer In, this move requires three energy cards to use, two metal and one colorless, and does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bronzong is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Bronzor into play (I reviewed Bronzor from this set yesterday) and then evolve Bronzor into Bronzong.  If you read yesterday's review of Bronzor, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because it was severely limited in what it could do only having one move that did 10 damage and a low HP.  So knowing this about Bronzor and looking at this Bronzong card, the only way I would use this card in a deck is if one I was building a metal type deck, and two, I needed a quick way to get energy cards on my benched Pokemon.  If these two cases are true, I would include a 1-1 line of Bronzor and Bronzong in a deck and keep Bronzong on the bench the whole time, utilizing its Ability whenever you can move an energy card from your discard pile to one of your benched Pokemon.  The one move that Bronzong does have is average, so the card could be used in the active Pokemon spot if needed, but I would prefer to utilize this card only for its Ability.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  Besides having a very good Ability to use in a metal type deck, this card is average overall, it has an average HP, and an average move, but a fairly high retreat cost and the one move that this card does have is slow to set up.  Together with Bronzor from this set, which I gave a 2 rating, I would give both of these Pokemon a 2 rating, just because they won't be that great unless you're using a majority of metal type Pokemon in your deck.
