Sliggoo -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sliggoo from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card set.  Sliggoo is a Stage 1, Dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to Fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Sliggoo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Division, for one Colorless Energy card, this move allows you to search for up to 2 Sliggoo cards and put them onto your Bench.  Tackle is this card's second move, for two Energy cards, one each of Water and Fairy, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sliggoo is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Goomy into play (I reviewed Goomy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Goomy into Sliggoo.  Goomy does have a Stage 2 evolution in Goodra, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sliggoo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Goomy, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Similar to this Sliggoo card, Goomy has a below average HP, and two somewhat weak moves, even though it does have the same Tackle move as Sliggoo.  So knowing this about Goomy and looking at this Sliggoo card, unless you plan on using several Goodra cards in your deck, and need a quick way to get Goodra set up, essentially skipping over Goomy by using this card's Division move, I would look elsewhere for Pokemon to use in your deck.  Not only does this card have a very low HP for a Stage 1 card, but its only attacking move requires two distinct types of Energy cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:  
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a well below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  The only reason to use this card in a deck is if you have to use it to get to Goodra, otherwise, this card is too weak and has too low of a HP to warrant use in a deck.  Together with Goomy from this set, which is also weak, I would give the two Pokemon a 1 out of 5 rating.

Sliggoo -- Ancient Origins Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sliggoo from the Ancient Origins Pokemon Card set.  Sliggoo is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sliggoo does not have an Ability or Ancient Trait but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Bubble, for one colorless energy card this move paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Sliggoo's second attack is called Melt and does 20 damage for two energy cards, one each of water and fairy.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sliggoo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Goomy into play (I reviewed Goomy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Goomy into Sliggoo.  Sliggoo does have a Stage 2 evolution in Goodra, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sliggoo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Goomy, you'll know that I thought that card was downright gloomy.  It has an extremely low HP, and the only move it had not only required two energy cards to use, making it slow, but it did below average damage only doing 10 damage.  So I recommended staying away from that card no matter what.  So knowing this about Goomy and looking at this Sliggoo card, I would recommend staying away from both Pokemon in this line, unless I take a look at Goodra tomorrow and just determine it unstoppable.  This card, just like Goomy, has a really low HP, and can do little damage when attacking.  Not only that, this card has a higher retreat cost than attack cost, and it requires two distinct type of energy when attacking.  So no thanks on using Sliggoo in a deck, so there is really no strategy required.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very poor Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Ancient Origins set.  Not only does it have a very low HP, it is slow on the attack, underpowered, and has a high retreat cost.  There is really nothing positive on this card at all.  Combined with the very poor Gloomy card from yesterday, I can't give these two cards higher than a 1 out of 5 rating.

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sliggoo from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card set.  Sliggoo is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sliggoo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Gooey, for one colorless energy card this move heals 30 damage from Sliggoo.  Its second move is called Gentle Slap, and for three energy cards, one each of water, fairy, and colorless, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sliggoo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Goomy into play (I reviewed Goomy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Goomy into Sliggoo.  Sliggoo does have a stage 2 evolution in Goodra that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sliggoo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Goomy, you'll know that I though that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card.  Even though it had two moves, the only move it could attack with required two energy cards, and it had a lower HP.  So knowing this about Goomy and looking at this Sliggoo card, this Sliggoo card is almost the exact same as Goomy, just a little bit better moves because it is a Stage 1 card.  This card has a move that can heal damage from Sliggoo just like Goomy, and then another move that requires a bit more energy that can do some damage.  Because these cards are so similar and I did not like Goomy at all, I definitely don't like Sliggoo from this set and would not recommend using the first two Pokemon in this line at all, without Goodra.  If you do want to use this line in your deck, don't use more than a 1-1 line of the two Pokemon, and get these cards into the active Pokemon spot early because they have a low HP, but can heal themselves.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a well below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  Just like the previous Stage 1 dragon type card I reviewed from this set, this card is very poor.  Besides having a low HP, and a very high retreat cost, neither move that this card is that good, and neither move warrants even consideration in using in a deck.  So combined with Goomy from this set which I gave a 2 rating, they would get a 1 rating combined, stay away from these two cards if you can.

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sliggoo from the Flashfire Pokemon Card set.  Sliggoo is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sliggoo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Gooey, this move removes 30 damage from Sliggoo, and requires one colorless energy card to use.  Sliggoo's second move is called Gentle Slap, this move requires three energy cards, one each of water, fairy, and colorless, and does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sliggoo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Goomy into play (I reviewed Goomy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Goomy into Sliggoo.  Sliggoo does have a stage 2 evolution in Goodra that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sliggoo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Goomy, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card that shouldn't be used on its own, unless you were specifically building a fairy and water type deck and were desperate for one more card.  Because Goomy is not the greatest and this card, Sliggoo, is not great as well, I would not recommend using the first two Pokemon in this line in a deck without using Goodra.  If for some reason you really like the first two Pokemon in this line and want to use Goomy and Sliggoo, I would use a 1-1 line, and probably wait to put this Pokemon line into the active Pokemon spot, until Goomy is evolved on the bench and Sliggoo has three energy cards on it, that way you could use Gentle Slap every turn and then use Gooey if Sliggoo got in trouble because you wouldn't necessarily want to retreat Sliggoo and give up three energy cards to do so.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a way below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  The reason I'm giving this card my lowest rating is because of its low HP and high retreat cost.  The two moves this card has are decent, Gooey is an average move, but Gentle Slap does way below average damage for the amount of energy cards it needs to attack.  So if I were to rate both Goomy and Sliggoo from this set combined, I would give the two cards a 1 out of 5 rating, I am definitely not a fan of them, especially since they need to be in a dual type deck.
