Pyroar -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pyroar from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Pyroar is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pyroar does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Flame Charge, for two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, this move does 60 damage, it also allows you to search your deck for a fire energy card and attach it to Pyroar.  Pyroar's second move is called Incinerate and for three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, this move does 90 damage, plus this move also lets you remove all Pokemon Tool cards attached to your opponent's active Pokemon before doing the damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pyroar is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litleo into play (I reviewed Litleo from this set yesterday) and then evolve Litleo into Pyroar.  There is a Pyroar BREAK card in this set and I'll be reviewing it tomorrow.  If you read yesterday's review of Litleo, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the reason it was below average is that it only had one move that either did damage or not based on a coin flip, other than that, the card was solid with a low retreat cost and average HP.  So knowing this about Litleo and looking at this Pyroar card, if you're building a fire type deck, it would be best to use a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family and set it up on the bench, especially since Litleo needs two energy cards to attack.  Pyroar is a straight out attacker, with both moves doing major damage, add in the fact it has a high HP for a Stage 1 evolution, and this is a card you definitely want to use in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This is one powerful card and one that should definitely be used in fire type decks out there.  You can't complain about being able to do major damage every single turn plus do more with both moves.  So again, I would highly recommend using this line in a deck, and together with Litleo from this set would give both cards a 3 out of 5 rating.

Pyroar -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pyroar from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Pyroar is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pyroar's Ability is called Flare Command, it says that once per turn you may discard an energy card attached to Pyroar, if you do, you may switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Pyroar just has one move called Inferno Onrush, this move requires four energy cards, three fire and one colorless, and does 110 damage.  However, this move does do 30 damage to Pyroar itself.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pyroar is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litleo into play (I reviewed Litleo from this set yesterday) and then evolve Litleo into Pyroar.  If you read yesterday's review of Litleo, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card, it had an average HP and two moves, but neither move it had was that great and its retreat cost was high.  So knowing that about Litleo and looking at this Pyroar card, I would definitely not recommend using more than 1 of these Pyroar cards if you use this card at all, and the only time I would consider using this card is in a spread damage type deck.  I say this because Pyroar requires a ton of energy cards to attack and if you want to spread damage around you are going to need even more energy cards, since you need to discard an energy card every turn.  Ideally, you would never even put Pyroar into the active Pokemon spot, you would put maybe three energy cards on Pyroar on the bench and use its Ability there, and then have whatever Pokemon that can do one hit knockouts in the active Pokemon spot knocking the newly active Pokemon out.  Again, I personally probably wouldn't use this card or line in a deck, but if you do, use a 1-1 line.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  I like how this card has a high HP, a decent Ability, and a powerful move, however, putting all of these things together doesn't make for the best of card.  This card is too slow in my opinion, requires too many energy cards, and does too much damage to itself when attacking to merit use in many decks out there.  So while this card can be good, I wouldn't recommend using it.  Overall, I would give the line of Litleo and Pyroar from the Phantom Forces set a 2 out of 5 rating, the same rating both received individually.

Pyroar -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pyroar from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Pyroar is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pyroar's Ability is called Intimidating Mane, this Ability prevents all damage done to Pyroar from your opponent's Basic Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Pyroar just has one move called Storching Fang, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, and does 60 damage, but when using this move, if you discard a fire type card, this move does 80 damage instead of 60.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pyroar is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litleo into play (I reviewed both Litleo cards from this set the past two days) and then evolve Litleo into Pyroar.  If you read the two Litleo cards that I reviewed, you'll know that I liked the second Litleo card in this set better because it could attack quicker, however, if you don't plan on using Litleo as a starter type Pokemon, the first Litleo card in the set can do more damage and has a higher hp.  No matter the Litleo you use, you'll definitely want to use this Pyroar card in every deck you have fire energy cards in.  I say this because Pyroar's Ability is extremely good, and if you get this card into the active Pokemon spot early in the game, your opponent won't be able to do anything, you can keep knocking out basic Pokemon with Storching Fang while making the basic Pokemon unable to do any damage against you with Pyroar's Ability.  I would probably use a 2-2 line of Litleo and Pyroar in my deck, I would use one of each Litleo cards in this set.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set. I am giving this card a 5 out of 5 rating on the its Ability alone, throw in the pretty good move it has in Storching Fang, and this card is definitely the best stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  So if you're building a fire type deck, this Pokemon family should definitely be in your deck, used together, I would give Litleo and Pyroar a 4 out of 5 rating.
