Meowstic -- Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowstic from the Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Set.  Meowstic is a Stage 1, Psychic type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90. It has a x2 weakness to Psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  This card does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Allure, for one Psychic Energy card, this move lets you draw 3 cards.  The second move on this card is called Hand Kinesis, for two Colorless Energy cards, this move does 10 damage for each card in your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowstic is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Espurr into play (I reviewed Espurr from this set yesterday) and then evolve Espurr into Meowstic.  If you read yesterday's review of Espurr, you'll know I thought it was a below average card overall.  It was a fairly intriguing card, since its one move made it so the defending Pokemon was weak to Psychic type Pokemon until the end of your next turn.  Other than that, this card was very limited, with just the one move, and 60 HP.  Knowing this about Espurr and looking at this Meowstic card, this card is intriguing as well, ideally, you would use either Professor Sycamore or N before using Allure, then use Hand Kinesis the following turn, to do a good amount of damage, but with the popularity of N, your opponent can easily reduce the size of your hand after using Allure, and later in games, if you've taken some Prize cards, N will really hurt Hand Kinesis' attack power.  So while Meowstic is intriguing, I would stick with my originally strategy of just using Espurr, using its move to make the defending Pokemon weak to Psychic type Pokemon, then use Guzma or retreat Espurr the next turn and bring in a big hitting Psychic type Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Burning Shadows set.  Like I stated above, although this card has some intrigue with it, since it can potentially do major damage for only one Double Colorless Energy card, overall, I think this card just isn't that great, and I would pass on using this card or line in a deck.  Together with Espurr from this set, I would give both cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Meowstic -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowstic from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Meowstic is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Meowstic does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Energy Present, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to attach up to two energy cards from your hand to one of your benched Pokemon.  Psyshot is Meowstic's second move and for two energy cards, one each of psychic and colorless, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowstic is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Espurr into play (I reviewed Espurr from this set yesterday) and then evolve Espurr into Meowstic.  If you read yesterday's review of Espurr, you'll know that I thought that card was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card, it was solid overall with a good HP, quick move, and low retreat cost, it was just limited in that it only had the one move which could do 10 damage.  So knowing this about Espurr and looking at this Meowstic card, since both are quick attacking, it would make most sense to try and start the game with Espurr in the active Pokemon spot and then evolve it into Meowstic right away to be able to set up your benched Pokemon with Energy Present.  Then, if you're still facing a weaker Pokemon after using that move a couple of times, you could use Psyshot a couple of turns, or just retreat Meowstic for a Pokemon that is set up on the bench.  So, if building a psychic type deck, I would consider using a 1-1 line of this lot and using Energy Present on Meowstic to quickly get energy cards on your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  There really are not any downsides to this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two good moves, one move that attacks, another move that sets up your benched Pokemon.  So like I said above, if you're building a deck, this line is worth a look, combined I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating.

Meowstic -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowstic from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Meowstic is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Meowstic does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Its first move is called Ear Influence, for one psychic energy card this move allows you to move as many damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon as you like to any other of your opponent's Pokemon in any way that you'd like.  Meowstic's second move is called Psychic, this move requires three psychic energy card and does 60 damage, plus 10 more damage for each energy card attached to your opponent's active Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowstic is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Espurr into play (I reviewed Espurr from this set yesterday) and then evolve Espurr into Meowstic.  If you read yesterday's review of Espurr you'll know that I thought that card was an average basic Pokemon card, even though it could only do 10 maximum damage, I thought the card was still worth using because it could paralyze the defending Pokemon.  But regardless of how good Espurr is, if you're building a psychic type or a spread damage type deck, this Meowstic card is a must have.  If you're building a spread damage type deck, you can rely very heavily on Ear Influence, and you should be able to easily knock out Pokemon with this move.  If you're building a psychic type deck, you'll have to rely more on Psychic, and the longer in the game you wait, and the more set up the defending Pokemon is the more damage this move will do.  So no matter the type of deck you're building, I would go with a 2-2 line of Espurr and Meowstic.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very awesome stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  I really like everything about this Meowstic card, it has nothing below average and both of its moves are way above average.  So together, Espurr and Meowstic would get a 5 out of 5 rating from me, even though Espurr is just average, I think Meowstic is just that good, and if you're building a deck, Meowstic is definitely the card to use.
