Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Manectric from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set. Manectric is a stage 1, lightning type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Manectric does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Random Spark, for one lightning energy card this move does 30 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon. Manectric's second move is called Bite, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 40 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Manectric is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Electrike into play (I reviewed Electrike from this set yesterday) and then evolve Electrike into Manectric. If you read yesterday's review of Electrike, you'll know that I thought the card was slightly below average, it couldn't be used on its own because it was so limited in what it could do only having one move that did 10 damage, other than that, it did have an average HP, and a low retreat cost. So knowing this about Electrike and looking at Manectric, this card is similar to Electrike in that it has an average HP and a low retreat cost, but neither move it has is that great. This card could definitely work in a spread damage type deck, since Random Spark can do 30 damage to any one of your opponent's Pokemon which helps you pick and choose an easy Pokemon to knock out. Neither of Manectric's moves can do that much damage, but both are quick and do a good amount of damage for the amount of energy cards required. I more than likely wouldn't use this line in a deck, since neither can do much damage, but if you're building a lightning type deck or are just a fan of this Pokemon line, only use a 1-1 line.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set. This card cannot do major damage, which is a turn off for me, but the card does have a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two good moves, at least for the amount of energy cards required to use them. So you definitely can't go terribly wrong by using this Pokemon line in your deck, combined I would give the two of these cards a 3 out of 5 rating.
