Krokorok -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Krokorok Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Krokorok from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card set.  Krokorok is a Stage 1, Darkness type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to Fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Psychic type Pokemon, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Krokorok does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Knock Off, for two Colorless Energy cards this move does 20 damage, and allows you to discard a random card from your opponent's hand.  Krokorok's second move is called Darkness Fang, for three Energy cards, two Darkness and one Colorless, this move does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Krokorok is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Sandile into play (I reviewed Sandile from this set yesterday) and then evolve Sandile into Krokorok.  Sandile does have a Stage 2 evolution in Krookodile, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Krokorok is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Sandile, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon overall.  Even though Sandile had an above average HP and two moves, I gave it a below average rating mainly because it was slow on the attack and when attacking it was under-powered.  So knowing this about Sandile and looking at this Krokorok card, it is similar to its Basic evolution form, in that it has a solid HP, two moves, yet isn't worth using in a deck since it is not that powerful.  Knock Off can be useful for disrupting your opponent's strategy and if you're playing 4 Double Colorless Energy cards it can be used for only one Energy card, but Darkness Fang only does average damage and isn't worth the three Energy cards needed to attack on a Stage 1 card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average to slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card overall.  This card really doesn't have any negatives but it just isn't that great overall.  It is somewhat slow on the attack and can't do more than average damage.  Together with Sandile from this set, I would give the two cards a 2 out of 5 rating, look elsewhere for some Darkness type Pokemon to use in your deck.

Krokorok -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Krokorok Flashfire Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Krokorok from the Flashfire Pokemon Card set.  Krokorok is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Krokorok does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Dark Clamp, for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage and makes your opponent unable to retreat during their next turn.  Krokorok's second move is called Double Swing, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 60 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Krokork is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Sandile into play (I reviewed Sandile from this set yesterday) and then evolve Sandile into Krokorok.  Krokorok does have a stage 2 evolution in Krookodile that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but there is not a Krookodile card in this set, so you'll have to read my previous reviews on Krookodile to see if you should use this Pokemon with Krookodile.  So if you read yesterday's review of Sandile, you will know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card and a card that should not be used on its own and if you decide to use Krokorok really should be put in the active Pokemon spot, it should be evolved into Krokorok on the bench.  However, I would not recommend using Krokorok in a deck for the same reason I didn't recommend using Sandile from this set, I would not use it because Krokorok's main move, Double Swing, is a coin based move, meaning it could end up doing zero damage every single turn.  If you were to use Sandile and Krokorok in your deck, I wouldn't use more than a 1-1 line, and I would hope for some luck when using these cards because you'll need it, but if you do get some heads, Sandile can do up to 30 damage a turn and Krokorok can do 120 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  This card can do a good amount of damage, but unfortunately it just isn't that great of card, besides having an average hp, everything else on this card is below average, especially the two moves it has.  So overall, if you look at Krokorok and Sandile combined, I would probably give these two cards a 1 out of 5 rating, they are both below average individually and terrible together, I would look elsewhere for darkness type Pokemon for your deck.

Krokorok -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Krokorok Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Krokorok from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  Krokorok is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Krokorok does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Crunch and for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin the defending Pokemon must have an energy card discarded from it.  Krokorok's second move is called Darkness Fang, this move does 60 damage for three energy cards, two darkness and one colorless.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Krokorok is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Sandile into play (I reviewed Sandile from this set yesterday) and then evolve Sandile into Krokorok.  Krokorok does have a stage 2 evolution in Krookodile that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Krokorok is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Sandile you'll know that I thought it was an average to slightly below average basic Pokemon card that had a high hp, retreat cost, and two moves, both doing a good amount of damage but both moves being fairly slow.  I recommended against using that card in a deck on its own because of its slowness.  Knowing that Sandile is slow as well as Krokorok, if you choose to use the first two Pokemon in this line without Krookodile, I wouldn't use more than a 1-1 line in a darkness type deck.  I would evolve Sandile into Krokorok on the bench and try and use Darkness Fang every time in the active Pokemon spot, of course if you have less than three energy cards on it you'll have to use Crunch instead which could be useful early on in the game by buying time allowing you to set up your bench Pokemon while your opponent's Pokemon is unable to attack.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Sandile from this family was a slightly below average 3 out of 5, but this Krokorok is a solid 3 out of 5.  Besides having a high retreat cost, everything else on this card is pretty average.  So if you're building a darkness type deck, this Pokemon line wouldn't be the worst line to put in your deck.  Overall I would rate Sandile and Krokorok from this set a 3 out of 5, both individually were 3s.

Krokorok -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Krokorok Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Krokorok from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set. The first move that this card has is called Bite, for one darkness energy card, this move does 20 damage.  Krokorok's second move is called Corkscrew Punch, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 50 damage.

So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Sandile was a very poor basic Pokemon card, so in knowing that, this Krokorok card will really have to be good in order for me to want to use it.  But unfortunately this card just isn't that good either so I would avoid both of the two Pokemon in this line.  If you were to use this card in a deck, I wouldn't use more than 1 each of Sandile and Krokorok, and I would try and evolve Sandile into Krokorok on the bench, get at least one energy card on Krokorok and then move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Bite until you have three energy cards on it, then use Corkscrew Punch every other turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. Even though this card has an average hp, and two moves, I am still giving this card a below average rating because neither of Krokorok's moves are very good, Bite is okay, but Corkscrew Punch does below average damage.  So coupled with Sandile from this set, I would give this line so far a 1 out of 5 rating, Sandile was a 1 and Krokorok was a 2.  I would avoid this two Pokemon at all costs.
