Mega Charizard EX X -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Mega Charizard EX version X from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Mega Charizard EX is a Mega Evolution, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 230. It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mega Charizard does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Wild Blaze, this move requires six energy cards to use, two fire, one darkness, and two colorless, and does 300 damage a turn, however you must discard the top 5 cards off the top of your deck when you use this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
Before I start with the strategy, remember that this card is a Mega Evolution card and an EX card so if you use this card in your deck and it gets knocked out, your opponent gets to take two prize cards instead of one and when you evolve an EX card into its Mega Evolution, your turn ends, you cannot do anything else.  So knowing these things, you'll always want to use Mega Evolution cards with caution, but with that being said, if you're building a dual deck of fire and darkness and already using 1 or 2 Charizard EX cards in your deck, I would highly recommend putting this card in your deck.  That way, you can use Charizard EX most of the game or get it set up on the bench, and late in the game, you can evolve Charizard EX into Mega Charizard EX and the next turn you can do 300 damage with Wild Blaze and knock any Pokemon out in the TCG in one move.  However, as far as the TCG is concerned, Mega Charizard Y is the much better EX card because instead of discarding cards from your deck when using this move, it just does damage to itself.  And especially late in the game is when you'll want to make sure and knock out a Pokemon quickly, and with this card, you may end up losing the game if you choose to use Wild Blaze and then run out of cards in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  This card can definitely do major damage in a deck since it can do 300 damage a turn, however it isn't that great of an EX card in my opinion because it requires so many energy cards to attack, different energy cards at that, plus when you do attack the move discards a ton of energy cards which may make you lose the game pretty quickly.  But if you can get this card into the active Pokemon with a pretty full deck, this card can absolutely dominate!

Carbink -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Carbink from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Carbink is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 70, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Carbink does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Crystal Barrier, for one fairy type energy card if you get a heads when you flip a coin all effects of an attack from your opponent during their next turn are prevented.  Carbink's second move is called Wonder Blast, this move requires three colorless energy card and does 20 damage for each fairy type energy card attached to this Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Carbink is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, you could definitely use at least one of these Carbink cards in a fairy type deck as a starter type Pokemon because you can put it into play immediately and use Crystal Barrier, thus giving you time to set up Wonder Blast and do 100 damage a turn.  With 70 hp, you should be fine early on in the game if you don't get a heads when trying to use Crystal Barrier but later in the game, unless Carbink is already set up, this card won't be that great because 70 hp on a card that late in a game just isn't that good.  So you can definitely take a chance on this card and use it in a deck, early on in the game it will be good, but as the game goes on this card will get worse.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  This card has an above average hp, and one good move out of two moves.  If you plan on using this card as a starter type Pokemon, it will be a little slower than most, but will pack much more power by being able to do 100 damage a turn if you're using solely fairy type energy cards with it.  Overall, this card is definitely worth being used in a deck.

Spritzee -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Spritzee from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Spritzee is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Spritzee does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Fairy Wind, for one fairy type energy card this move does 10 damage.  Spritzee's second move is called Fickle Attack, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of fairy and colorless, and does 30 damage, however you must flip a coin when you use this move, if you get a tails the move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Spritzee is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Aromatisse, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon, however there is not an Aromatisse card in this set, so you'll have to go back and read my X and Y review of Aromatisse to see if you should use that card.  Because there isn't an Aromatisse card in this set I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own I would not recommend using this card in a deck.  The only way I would consider using it is as a starter type Pokemon, but because the better of the two moves that Spritzee has, Fickle Attack, it can only hit about 50% of the time and with a low hp of only 50, I would shy away from using this card.  Of course if you have this card in a deck, possibly because you're using it with Aromatisse, I would try and keep it on the bench and evolve it, or just put it into the active Pokemon spot early, put two energy cards on it, and hope you get lucky with Fickle Attack.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  This card is just lacking overall on what it can do, but it isn't lacking from a variety of moves, it just has poor ones, plus a low HP to boot.  So this Basic Pokemon card is a sub-par card in my opinion and one that should not be used on its own.

Florges -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Florges from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Florges is a stage 2, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resitandce to metal type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Florges does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Brilliant Search, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you to search your deck ofr up to 3 cards and put them into your hand.  Florges's second move is called Petal Blizzard, this move requires one fairy type energy card and does 20 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Florges is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Flabebe into play and then evolve it into Floette before you can evolve Floette into Florges, all of these Pokemon are in the Flashfire set and I've reviewed those Pokemon the last few days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards, you'll know that there are actually two each of Flabebe and Floette in this set, I am not too big of fan of either Flabebe card in this set, even though I recommend the first one over the second one, and then when looking at Floette, it really depends what type of deck you're running for which Floette card to choose, both are pretty good. So knowing all of this and reading the overview of this Florges card above, I would recommend using this card in a spread damage type deck, thus using it with the first Flabebe card in this set and the second Floette card in this set because Floette also has the Petal Blizzard move.  I would try and get at least Flabebe evolved into Floette on the bench then start attacking with Petal Blizzard.  A good thing about all of the cards in this line is the low retreat cost, but they better have a low retreat cost with such a low hp.  I would not use many of these cards in a deck probably only a 2-2-2 or 1-1-1 line.  If you get Florges into the active Pokemon spot early enough in the game you could always use Brilliant Search and get plenty of energy cards or evolution cards into your hand.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  Even though this card has an extremely low HP, I do like both of Florges's moves and if you're building a spread damage type deck, this card will fit perfectly, plus it is a quick card with a low retreat cost.  Overall, if you're looking at Flabebe, Floette, and Florges from this set, I would give the entire line a 3 out of 5 rating unless you're specifically building a spread damage type deck, then I would give the line a 4 out of 5 rating.  Individually I gave a 3 to Flabebe and 4s to Floette and Florges.
