Xerneas -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Xerneas Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Xerneas is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 130, a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Xerneas does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Geomancy, for one fairy energy card, this move allows you to attach one fairy type energy card to 2 of your benched Pokemon.  Xerneas' second move is called Rainbow Spear and for three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless, this move does 100 damage, however after attacking, you must discard an energy attached to this card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Xerneas is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card does have a BREAK evolution which I'll be reviewing tomorrow that you may want to use with this card.  On its own, the main reason you'll want to use Xerneas is in a heavy fairy type deck and as a starter type Pokemon so that you can use Geomancy and get your fairy type Pokemon set up very quickly.  It may be worth it to use Rainbow Spear once, then use a Switch trainer to retreat Xerneas since it wouldn't make sense to keep discarding energy cards while using this move.  So without knowing anything about Xerneas BREAK, I could still see using this card in a deck, like I said, early in the game, to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has a very good HP, and two solid moves, one that can help your benched Pokemon and the other that can dole out major damage to the defending Pokemon.  The only downside with this card is that you have to discard an energy card when doing damage, but other than that, it should be considered when creating a fairy type deck.

Xerneas -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Xerneas BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set.  Xerneas is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 120, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Xerneas does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Rainbow Force, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, and does 10 damage plus 30 more damage for each different type of Pokemon on your bench.  Xerneas' second move is called Power Creations and for four energy cards, two each of fairy and colorless, this move does 80 damage plus 80 more damage if this card was healed during the turn you use this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Xerneas is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, because this card requires so many energy cards to attack, meaning it is slow on the attack, if you decide to use this card in your deck, definitely do not use more than 1, set it up on the bench, and use it in at least a dual type deck, and one that has a Pokemon with an Ability that heals all of your Pokemon.  If you include Xerneas in a deck like this, you can probably do 100 damage a turn with Rainbow Force and 160 damage a turn with Power Creations.  So, if you have some patience, and include Xerneas in the right type of deck, this card can be very powerful and do a good amount of damage each turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set.  Even though this card has an above average HP and two powerful moves, the reason I'm giving this card an average rating is because its attack are pretty slow to set up, and require some additional factors to be able to do a good amount of damage.  So, if you're building a fairy type deck, this is definitely a card to consider.

Xerneas EX Full Art -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Xerneas EX Full Art Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas EX and Xerneas EX Full Art from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Xerneas EX is a basic, EX, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Xerneas does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Break Through, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, and does 60 damage, plus it does 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Xerneas's second move is called X Blast, this move requires four energy cards, two each of fairy and colorless, and does 140 damage, however you can't use this move two turns in a row.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Xerneas EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this, and looking at how many energy cards this card takes to attack, I would definitely use this EX card in a fairy type deck, but I wouldn't use more than one of these.  I would set up Xerneas on the bench, put four energy cards on it then move it to the active Pokemon spot to use X Blast the first turn and Break Through the turn after that.  That way you can knock out most Pokemon in one turn with X Blast and the next turn spread damage with Break Through which will eventually make it that much easier to knock out defending Pokemon when you can do 140 damage with X Blast on a Pokemon that has at least 30 prior damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  I really like both of Xerneas's moves, both can do major damage, but both moves take a bit to set up and X Blast can't be used every turn.  This is definitely an EX card you want to use in your Fairy type deck, and it also should be a card that collector's like me want to add to their collection.

Xerneas -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Xerneas Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Xerneas from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Xerneas is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 130, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Xerneas does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Geomancy, this move requires one fairy type energy card and allows you to choose to of your benched Pokemon and search your deck for a fairy type energy card that you can attach to each of them.  Xerneas's second move is called Rainbow Spear, this move requires three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless and does 100 damage, however after using this move you must discard all energy cards attached to Xerneas.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Xerneas is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, if you're building a fairy type deck I probably wouldn't use this card at all, and if I did, I would only use one instance of this card.  I say this because Rainbow Spear uses too many energy cards too quickly so it isn't that useful, and you can't stack up energy cards on Xerneas because Rainbow Spear discards everything.  I would actually use Geomancy to set up my other Pokemon over Rainbow Spear.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Besides having an excellent hp and a move that does 100 damage, I wouldn't use this card in a deck because it just isn't effective with the amount of energy required with this card.  You're definitely better off finding a different basic fairy type Pokemon to use in your deck.
