Wingull -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Wingull Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Wingull from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Set.  Wingull is a Basic, Water type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to Lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Fighting type Pokemon, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Wingull does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  Its only move is called Roost, for one Colorless Energy card this move heals 30 damage from Wingull.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Wingull is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Pelipper, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, there is really no reason to use this card in a deck.  The only strategy this card could use on its own would be putting it in the active Pokemon spot to start the game and using Roost every turn, hopefully removing all damage from attacks every turn and allowing time for your Bench to be set up.  Otherwise, since this card can't attack, it would make more sense to leave it on the Bench and evolve it into Pelipper there.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Pelipper, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  This card has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and a decent move if it had a move that could also do damage when attacking, unfortunately since it only has the one move, this card is very poor and there is no reason to use this card in the active Pokemon spot.

Wingull -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Wingull Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Wingull from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Wingull is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Wingull does not have an Ancient Trait or Ability and it only has one move.  The only move it has is called Water Gun, this move requires one water energy card to use and does 10 damage.

So, on its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck, this card is by no means terrible, but it is just very limited in what it can do only having one move and being able to do 10 damage maximum.  So if you do use this card in a deck, you'll want to use it as a starter type Pokemon, that way doing 10 damage a turn will do more on weaker Pokemon, but again, unless you're using this card with Pelipper, I wouldn't recommend using it.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Pelipper, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  I am giving this card a 2 out of 5 rating even though nothing on this card is below average, it has one average move, an average HP, and an average retreat cost, what reduces its rating is the fact it is quite limited and will be quite useless late in games.  So if you're building a water type deck, please look elsewhere, there are plenty of better water type Pokemon cards out there.
