Vibrava -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Vibrava Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vibrava from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card set.  Vibrava is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vibrava does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Sand Attack, for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage plus if the defending Pokemon tries attacking during their next turn, your opponent must flip a coin, and they can only attack if they flip a heads.  Vibrava's second move is called Super Vibration, this move requires three energy cards to use, one each of fighting, grass, and colorless, and it does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vibrava is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Trapinch into play (I reviewed Trapinch from this set a couple of weeks ago) and then evolve Trapinch into Vibrava.  Vibrava does have a stage 2 evolution in Flygon that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vibrava is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Trapinch from this set, it is a fighting type Pokemon card and it would make for a solid starter type Pokemon in a deck, it has a good HP, low retreat cost, and two quick, average attacking power moves.  So knowing this about Trapinch and looking at this Vibrava card, I am a fan of Sand Attack on this card, it does some damage but it is a very defensive move, possibly disabling your opponent from attacking.  In my opinion, this Vibrava card would be a perfect stepping stone to using Flygon, but just using Trapinch and Vibrava without Flygon isn't recommended, I would either use just Trapinch or the entire Pokemon line.  I am not a huge fan of Super Vibration just because it requires two different energy types and does average damage for the amount of energy required.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a slightly below average, yet still average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  This card definitely doesn't blow me away and make me want to use it in a deck, but it isn't bad overall, outside of having just a little lower HP than I'd like, this card does have two decent moves, and a low retreat cost.  Paired with Trapinch from this set, I would give both combined only a 2 out of 5 rating, I think this line will improve greatly with the introduction of Flygon.

Vibrava -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Vibrava Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vibrava from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card set.  Vibrava is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vibrava does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Charge Energy and for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for two energy cards and put them into your hand.  Vibrava's second move is called Vibration and for two energy cards one each of grass and fighting, does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vibrava is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Trapinch into play (I reviewed Trapinch a few weeks back because it was a fighting type Pokemon) and then evolve Trapinch into Vibrava.  Vibrava does have a stage 2 evolution in Flygon that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vibrava is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Trapinch from this set you'll know that I thought that card was average to below average and could be used on its own in a deck, but was a little slow on the attack so it would be best to be kept on the bench if using it with its evolutions.  So when looking at this Vibrava card, the first thing you'll want to note is that you'll probably want to use this card in a dual type deck of grass and fighting Pokemon.  This card can be used in a deck without Flygon but I would only recommend using a 1-1 line of Trapinch and Vibrava.  I would try and set up Vibrava on the bench getting two energy cards on it before moving it to the active Pokemon spot.  The earlier in the game you use Vibrava the better since it only has 80 HP and can only do 30 damage a turn, but with a low retreat cost, and low attack costs, this card is a fairly average and solid card to use in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  I like that this card has two moves, both requiring little energy cards.  Plus this card has a low retreat cost which makes up for its low HP.  Even though I gave both Trapinch and Vibrava 3 out of 5 ratings individually, I am going to give these two cards combined a 2 out of 5 rating, they can be used in a deck, but they definitely won't be game changing.

Vibrava -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Vibrava Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vibrava from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Vibrava is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vibrava does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Its first move is called Quick Turn, this move requires one grass energy card and does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.  Vibrava's second move is called Sand Pulse, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, and does 50 damage plus 10 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, you'll more than likely use this card with its stage 2 evolution in Flygon, but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, this strategy will evolve around only using Trapinch and Vibrava in a deck, not Flygon.  One thing to note about this Pokemon line is that Trapinch is purely a fighting type Pokemon card, but both Flygon and Vibrava are Dragon Type Pokemon which require both fighting and grass type energy cards.  So with that being said, you'll want to use this card in a fighting and grass type deck.  I would try and keep Trapinch on the bench and then evolve it into Vibrava.  I would then attach three energy cards to Vibrava, wait until my opponent has a full bench then move Vibrava into the active Pokemon spot and use Sand Pulse every turn.  If you have to put Vibrava into the active Pokemon spot before it has three energy cards on it you'll have to use Quick Turn instead of Sand Pulse.  Besides putting this card in a fighting and grass type deck, you'll want to use this card in a spread damage type deck, doing this will allow for Vibrava's Sand Pulse move to be even more effective than it is already.  I would consider putting a 1-1 or 2-2 line of Trapinch and Vibrava in a fighting and grass or just fighting type deck if you're using this card for Sand Pulse.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card.  Even though this card does have a below average hp and has one weak move in Quick Turn, I am still giving this card an average rating.  I really like Vibrava's Sand Pulse move and the fact that it has a low retreat cost.  So I would definitely recommend using this card as well as Trapinch in a deck.
