Tranquill -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Tranquill Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Tranquill from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card set.  Tranquill is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Tranquill does not have an Ability or an Ancient Trait and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Fly, for two colorless energy cards this move does 40 damage, however when using this move you must flip a coin, if the coin is a heads all effects of attacks done to Tranquill during your opponent's next turn are prevented, if the coin is a tails, the move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Tranquill is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pidove into play (I reviewed Pidove from this set yesterday) and then evolve Pidove into Tranquill.  Tranquill does have a stage 2 evolution in Unfezant that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Tranquill is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review Pidove from this set you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card.  There really wasn't anything wrong with it, having an average HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, it was just the fact that the only move that could do damage on the card required two energy cards instead of one.  So knowing this about Pidove and looking at this Tranquill card, I would highly recommend not using either of these Pokemon in a deck without Unfezant.  I would specifically hinder against using Tranquill at all because it is so poor and may not be able to do anything at all if you have some bad luck flipping a coin.  So stay away from this card if you can, and if you have to use it with Unfezant, keep this line on the bench until you can evolve it to its Stage 2 form.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very poor Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set and one I would never recommend using in a deck.  Starting off, this card has a really poor HP, then the only thing this card can do is attack, and the one move it has is based off of a coin flip, and if you flip a tails the move does nothing at all.  So paired with Pidove from this set, I can't give these two cards higher than a 1 out of 5 rating, they are very poor.

Tranquill -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Tranquill Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Tranquill from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Tranquill is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Tranquill does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  Its only move is called Air Slash, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 60 damage.  However, after using this move, an energy card must be discarded from Tranquill.

So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Pidove was a below average basic Pokemon card that I would not use in a deck, so this card will have to be above average before I would consider using this Pokemon card in a deck.  I know I have not reviewed this card yet (gave it a score) but I would not use this card in a deck with just Pidove.  I say this because Tranquill has a below average hp and one move that does average damage but has an energy discarded.  So if you do choose to use this card in your deck, I would only use a 2-1 or a 1-1 line of Pidove and Tranquill in any type deck.  I would try and evolve Pidove into Tranquill on the bench then use Air Slash every turn.  The one thing Tranquill has going for it is that it can be used in any type deck, but this still doesn't make me want to use this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very below average stage 1 Pokemon card. Like I mentioned above, the only thing this card has going for it is its type, besides that, this card has a low hp, and a below average move.  You'll definitely want to stay away from this line so far, you can definitely find a better stage 1 colorless type Pokemon card to use in your deck.

Tranquill -- Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Review

Tranquill Emerging Powers Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Tranquill from the Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Set.  Tranquill is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to electric type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Tranquill doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Claw and for one colorless energy card it does 30 damage unless you flip a tails when using this move then the move does nothing at all.  Tranquill's second move is called Wing Attack and for three colorless energy cards it does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon card that has a stage 2 evolution in Unfezant, I would recommend keeping Tranquill on the bench and evolving it into Unfezant before putting it into play, I would do this because Unfezant can do much more damage than Tranquill and it has a higher hp.  There is one Unfezant card in this set, and I've reviewed that card on my blog previously.  If you have to put KlangTranquill into play, I would recommend using Wing Attack every turn because it is the only move on Tranquill that is guaranteed to do damage, the only time I would use Claw would be if I have less than 3 energy cards on Tranquill, otherwise there is no reason at all to use Claw.  If I wanted to use Tranquill in my deck I would make sure to include Unfezant in that deck, I would use a 4-3-2 or 3-2-1 line of Pidove, Tranquill, and Unfezant in any type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a well below average Pokemon card, even though it can be in any deck because it is a colorless card, it is still that bad of card that I  am giving it a poor rating.  First off, it has a horrible hp, and secondly both of its moves are terrible, the first move has only a 50/50 chance of doing damage, and the second move does below average damage for three energy cards, so again, I recommend if you want to use Tranquill in your deck, keep Tranquill on the bench and evolve it into Unfezant before putting it in the active Pokemon spot.
