Taillow -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Taillow Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Taillow from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Taillow is a Basic, Colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to Lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Fighting type Pokemon, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Taillow does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move on this card is called Reckless Charge, for one Colorless Energy card, this move does 20 damage, however this move also does 10 damage to Taillow.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Taillow is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Swellow, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you only plan on using this card for the first turn of the game, I probably wouldn't use this card in a deck without Swellow.  Although Reckless Charge does do above average damage and can use any Energy card to attack, doing 10 damage per turn to Taillow will make this card get knocked out quick.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Swellow, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Although this card has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and can do a good amount of damage when attacking, because this card does damage to itself when attacking and is limited in just having the one move, I would look elsewhere for a Basic Pokemon card to use in your deck, especially if you don't plan on using Swellow.

Taillow -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Taillow Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Taillow from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Taillow is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Taillow does not have an Ancient Trait or an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Double Peck, this move requires one colorless energy card to use and does 10 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Taillow is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Swellow, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed either of those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I would not recommend using this card in a deck, even though it can fit into any type deck since it is a colorless type Pokemon card.  The reason I would not use this card on its own is because it has a below average HP, and the only move that this card has may end up doing zero damage every single turn.  You don't want to try and put this card into your active Pokemon spot to start the game and never be able to do any damage with it.  If you were using this card with Swellow, it wouldn't be so bad.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Swellow, this card is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  It has a below average HP and the one move it has, even though it has the potential to do above average damage every turn, is a coin flip based move and one that may end up not doing any damage at all.  So if you're in need for a Basic Pokemon card for your deck, make sure to look elsewhere.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Taillow -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Taillow Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Taillow from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Taillow is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Taillow does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Aerial Ace, for two colorless energy cards this move does 10 damage plus if you get a heads it does 30 more damage.

So, on its own because this card is quite limited by one move, I wouldn't recommend using it in a deck.  But if you want to use this card in your deck, definitely don't use more than one because the card is a little slower to attack and has a low hp.  Try to get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, and use Aerial Ace every turn, this move is actually pretty good if you're lucky and get a heads.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Despite having a decent move, if you flip a heads, this card gets a below average rating from me because the card has a low hp, and the only move it does have requires two energy cards to attack instead of just needing one.  So there are definitely better basic Pokemon cards out there that you can use in your deck, but this card is definitely not the worst one out there.
