Skarmory -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Skarmory Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skarmory from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Set.  Skarmory is a Basic, Metal type Pokemon card with a HP of 110.  Skarmory has a x2 weakness to Metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Fighting type Pokemon, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Skarmory does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Metallic Sound, for two Colorless Energy cards this move allows you to discard all Special Energy from each Pokemon.  Skarmory's second move is called Aerial Ace, for three Energy cards, one Metal and two Colorless, this move does 60 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skarmory is a Basic Pokemon card with no evolution forms, you'll only have to use this card in a deck if you want to use Skarmory.  So knowing this, this card can't be used as a starter type Pokemon since it is too slow on the attack.  Really, the only reason you'd use this card in a deck is for its Metallic Sound move, lots of decks run 4 Double Colorless Energy cards, so using this move may destroy your opponent's strategy and gain you a big advantage.  Aerial Ace is also a solid move that has potential to do major damage, but for a card that has 110 HP, putting three Energy cards on it is risky.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Sun and Moon set.  Like I mentioned above, this is a card best used later in games, once it is set up on your Bench, it can work as either an attacker or a card that destroys your opponent's strategy.  Overall, although not amazing, it is a solid card and should be considered when deck building.

Skarmory -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Skarmory Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skarmory from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Skarmory is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 100, it has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Skarmory does not have an Ancient Trait or an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Call for Family, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for up to 2 Basic Pokemon and put them onto your bench.  Skarmory's second move is called Blow Through, this move requires two colorless energy cards to use and does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if there is a Stadium card in play.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skarmory is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card would work well as a starter type Pokemon in a deck.  You would try and get it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, use Call for Family the first turn to get some more Pokemon on your bench, then after that use Blow Through every turn, knocking most Basic Pokemon out in two turns, some in one turn if you do 60 damage a turn.  So you'll want to make sure you have some Stadium cards in your deck to boost Skarmory's move.  This card isn't as good of a starter type Pokemon as Dunsparce was from yesterday but I would still recommend this card in a deck if you need one more card to make 60 cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average to slightly above average Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring skies set.  There really isn't anything I dislike about this card, it has an above average HP, and two good moves.  So overall, if you're looking for a good card to add to your deck that can be used right away, definitely consider this Skarmory card.

Skarmory -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Skarmory Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skarmory from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Skarmory is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 100, it has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Skarmory does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Slash, for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage.  Skarmory's second move is called Iron Wing, for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, this move does 90 damage, however you must discard a metal energy attached to Skarmory after using this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skarmory is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card could work well as a starter type Pokemon early in a game.  You could get two energy cards on it, any type really, then use Slash every turn.  Since it has a pretty high HP, it should give you plenty of time to get your benched Pokemon set up.  If you can't get this card into the active Pokemon spot right away, you could stock up energy cards on this card and then when it is in the active Pokemon spot you could use Iron Wing several turns in a row without having to add energy cards to Skarmory.  Because this card doesn't evolve and neither move it has is beyond average, I would only use one of these cards in a deck if I chose to use it at all.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  I do like that this card has an above average HP and two moves.  If Iron Wing could do 90 damage without discarding an energy card, I would like this card a lot better, but because both moves are pretty average, I am giving this card an average rating overall.

Skarmory -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Skarmory Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skarmory from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Skarmory is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Skarmory does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move this card has is called Cargo Jet, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you to draw three cards from your deck if you choose to discard a Team Plasma card from your hand.  Skarmory's second move is called Steel Wing, this move requires three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, and does 40 damage plus reduces any damage done to Skarmory during your opponent's next turn by 20.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skarmory is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Because this card requires three energy cards before it can actually use an attack that does damage you'll want to set this card up on your bench.  I would not suggest using this card for Cargo Jet because not only does this move require an energy card but it requires you to discard another card from your hand whereas a trainer card would do this same thing for free and allow you to still attack.  So if I were using this card in my deck, I would keep Skarmory on the bench, attach three energy cards to it and then when it is in the active Pokemon spot every turn I would use Steel Wing.  With that being said, I would not use this card in a deck at all, I don't like anything about this card, moves wise, neither are very good.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a sub-par basic Pokemon card from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card set.  This is definitely one of the worst stage 1 cards I have reviewed lately and it is definitely a card you'll never want to use in a deck.  Besides having a good hp and low retreat cost, Cargo Jet is basically an extra expensive trainer card and Steel Wing does below average damage every turn with no way of doing any more damage.
