Scrafty -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Scrafty Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Scrafty from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Scrafty is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Scrafty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Low Kick, for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage.  Scrafty's second move is called Machine Gun Headbutt and for two darkness energy cards it does 50 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 3 coins, unfortunately after using this move, Scrafty is confused.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Scrafty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Scraggy into play (I reviewed Scraggy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Scraggy into Scrafty.  If you read yesterday's review of Scraggy, you'll know that I thought that card was an average Basic Pokemon card, even though it only had one move and a two colorless energy card retreat cost, I liked the card because it could do 30 damage for only two energy cards.  So knowing this about Scraggy and looking at this Scrafty card, I may include 1 each of Scraggy and Scrafty into a deck.  I would try and get Scraggy into the active Pokemon spot early, use its only move to do 30 damage then evolve it into Scrafty and keep doing 30 damage.  The only time I would use Machine Gun Headbutt is if I needed to knock out a Pokemon that had a ton of HP.  Also if I were going to use Scrafty in a deck, I would make sure to include some trainer cards that removed confusion so I could use Machine Gun Headbutt multiple turns without getting confused every time.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  There isn't much to complain about on this card since it has an average HP and retreat cost and two moves.  Low Kick is an average move, and Machine Gun Headbutt could potentially be an above average move if you get some luck and you remove the confusion right away.  So overall, if you're building a darkness type deck and need a couple more cards in it, I would definitely recommend taking a look at these two Pokemon, together I would give the cards a 3 out of 5 rating, the same ratings each card received individually.

Scrafty -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Scrafty Flashfire Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Scrafty from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set.  Scrafty is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Scrafty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Corner, this move requires two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus your opponent can't retreat during their next turn.  Scrafty's second move is called Jet Headbutt, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 80 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Scrafty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Scraggy into play (I reviewed Scraggy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Scraggy into Scrafty.  If you read yesterday's review of Scraggy you'll know that I thought that card was a pretty poor Basic Pokemon card because it has a high retreat cost and only one move that is coin based and it may not do any damage every turn.  So if you want to use this Pokemon line in a darkness type deck, I wouldn't use more than 1 each of Scrafty and Scraggy, I would try and get Scraggy on the bench, then move it to the active Pokemon spot when it has at least two energy cards on it, then you can use Corner the first turn then Jet Headbutt every turn after that.  Both of the moves that this card has are good, so if you're looking for a fairly powerful card to use in your deck that doesn't require that much energy, this card should definitely be a consideration.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  I say this because Scrafty has an above average hp, two moves that are both above average, and a fairly low retreat cost.  Together with Scraggy, this line is only average because Scraggy received a 1 from me, but if you need one more Pokemon line in a darkness type deck, this line should do the job.

Scrafty -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Scrafty Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Scrafty from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Scrafty is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Scrafty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move this card has is called Kick Away, this move requires two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus it makes your opponent switch out their active Pokemon and replace it with one of their benched Pokemon.  Scrafty's second move is called Reinforced Headbutt, this move requires three energy cards, two darkness and one colorless, and does 50 damage and if this card has a Pokemon tool card attached to it it does 100 damage instead of 50.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Scrafty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Scraggy into play (I reviewed Scraggy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Scraggy into Scrafty.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Scraggy would be a very good starter Pokemon to use in a darkness type deck and a card that could easily be used on its own in a deck.  Because of this you can definitely move Scraggy to the active Pokemon spot immediately.  Wherever you choose to evolve Scraggy into Scrafty, you should be able to start attacking quite quickly since Scrafty's Kick Away move requires two energy cards and if you've been using Scraggy for any time at all it should have at least one energy card on it.  If you do plan on using this card in a deck, make sure to include Pokemon tool card to take advantage of Reinforced Headbutt and do 100 damage per turn.  I think this Pokemon family from the Plasma Storm set would work very well in a darkness type deck and I would include a 2-1 or 3-2 line of this family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card.  Even though I'm giving this card an average rating, it is a very solid stage 1 Pokemon card and definitely one that I would use in my deck, I especially like that Scrafty has a low retreat cost and that both of its moves do damage.  The only reason I'm not giving it a better rating is because it doesn't have a move that requires only one energy card to attack and Reinforced Headbutt does below average damage if you don't have a Pokemon tool attached to Scrafty.  Overall, this family is a good one from the Plasma Storm set and I would give it a 4 out of 5 rating.
