Pangoro -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Pangoro Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pangoro from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Pangoro is a Stage 1, Darkness type Pokemon card, with a HP of 130. It has a x2 weakness to Fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Psychic type Pokemon, and a three Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Pangoro does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Sky Uppercut, for three Energy cards, one Darkness and two Colorless, this move does 70 damage.  Pangoro's second move is called Magnum Punch, for four Energy cards, one Darkness and three Colorless, this move does 130 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pangoro is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pancham into play (I reviewed Pancham from this set about a week ago) and then evolve Pancham into Pangoro.  If you read my review of Pancham, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The card was very limited in only having one move, that was slow on the attack, requiring two Fighting type Energy cards, and although it could do up to 60 damage, the more damage on Pancham, the less damage it could do.  So knowing that Pancham from this set is a Fighting type Pokemon, and noticing that Pangoro requires Darkness type Energy to attack, I would recommend either putting this line in a dual type deck, or just using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family, and setting up Pangoro on the Bench.  The strategy is very straightforward with this card, since all this card can do is attack.  Once set up, being able to do 130 damage per turn is great, but just remember, this card also has a high retreat cost.  So if you're okay with a card that requires a lot of Energy to attack and one that is slow to attack, this card is worth consideration in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Although extremely slow to attack, and a card with a very high retreat cost, if you're looking for some power in your deck, this card fits the bill.  Combined with Pancham from this set, I can only give these two cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Pangoro -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pangoro BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pangoro from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Pangoro is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pangoro does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Parting Shot and for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage plus it allows you to switch Pangoro with one of your benched Pokemon and it reduces any attacks during your opponent's next turn by 60.  Pangoro's second move is called Buster Swing and for three darkness energy cards this move does 90 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pangoro is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pancham into play (I reviewed Pancham a few days ago) and then evolve Pancham into Pangoro.  If you read my review of Pancham, you'll know other than having a higher retreat cost, the card was pretty average overall, having two quick attacking moves, a solid HP, and only requiring colorless type energy cards to attack.  So knowing this about Pancham and looking at this Pangoro card, this is a very solid card overall and one to use in a heavy darkness type deck for some power and a way to provide some defense for a Pokemon on your bench that has a little lower HP.  I would ideally start the game with Pancham in the active Pokemon spot doing 10 damage the first turn, 20 the second, then evolving Pancham into Pangoro and doing 90 damage a turn.  When Pangoro is close to being knocked out, you would use Parting Shot and provide some defense for your new active Pokemon.  This card also works well with Darkrai EX from this set since Pangoro requires all darkness type energy.  I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a darkness type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than having a higher retreat cost, which is nullified by Parting Shot, this card is very solid overall, having a high HP and a powerful attack.  Together with Pancham from this set, I would give these two cards a 4 out of 5 rating, both cards are solid and would make a nice addition to a deck.

Pangoro -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Pangoro Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pangoro from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set. The first move that this card has is called Clobber and for two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus if you discard an item card from your hand the move does 40 more damage.  Pangoro's second move is called Hammer Arm, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 80 damage, plus you can discard the top card of your opponent's deck.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pangoro is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Pancham cards from this set into play (I reviewed both from this set a few weeks back) and then evolve Pancham into Pangoro.  If you read those reviews you'll know that I thought both Pancham cards were pretty poor, so if you had to choose one of them, when using with Pangoro, I would go with the one numbered 59/111 because at least you can evolve Pancham immediately when you get it into the active Pokemon spot.  So knowing that both of the Pancham cards from this set aren't good, I wouldn't recommend too many of these Pokemon in a deck.  At most, I would only include a 1-1 line of Pancham and Pangoro.  I would set up Pancham on the bench, get three energy cards on it, move it to the active Pokemon spot and evolve it immediately into Pangoro, or hopefully you were able to evolve it on the bench.  Then I would use Hammer Arm every single turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  This card has a well above average HP, and two average to above average moves.  I really like Pangoro's Hammer Arm move since it does below average damage plus it discards one of your opponent's cards in their deck.  However, this card does have a high retreat cost and neither of the Pancham cards in this set are very good.  So overall, I would give Pancham and Pangoro from this set a 3 out of 5 rating.
