Makuhita -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Makuhita Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Makuhita from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Set.  Makuhita is a Basic, Fighting type Pokemon card with a HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to Psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Makuhita does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Makuhita's first move is called Surprise Attack, for one Fighting Energy card this move does 20 damage, however you must flip a coin when using this move, if you get a tails, the move does nothing.  Makuhita's second move is called Strength, for two Energy cards, one each of Fighting and Colorless, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Makuhita is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Hariyama, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, if you're looking for above average power from a Basic Pokemon for a Fighting type deck, this card definitely fits the bill.  If you can somehow guarantee 20 damage every turn with Surprise Attack, this card would be much better.  40 damage for two Energy cards is solid and this card is a good lead in to Hariyama, since you can put Makuhita in the Active Pokemon spot, it doesn't have to be evolved on the Bench.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Hariyama, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Sun and Moon set.  This card has an above average HP, and two solid moves.  I like that this card is quick on the attack, and is a good Basic Pokemon that evolves into a Stage 1.  So, if you're building a Fighting type deck, this card should definitely be considered.

Makuhita -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Makuhita Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Makuhita from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Makuhita is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Makuhita does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Punch which requires one fighting energy card and does 10 damage.  Makuhita's second move is called Strength, and for three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, this move does 40 damage.

So, on its own I can not recommend using this card in a deck.  The main reason for saying this is because you need three energy cards on Makuhita to retreat it, and I would mainly use this card as a starter Pokemon, and use Punch right away and then evolve it, I wouldn't use this card on its own.  However, if you choose to, you can still put it in the active Pokemon spot early in the game, you would just have to use Punch a couple of turns before being able to use Strength, but you're going to want to get three energy cards on Makuhita so you can retreat it, and so you can use Strength, even though Strength is an under powered move on this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, this is below average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  There are definitely some positives on this card like its high HP and the fact it has two moves, but overall the retreat cost is too high for my liking and neither move is very good, so I would recommend looking elsewhere for a fighting type Pokemon to use in your deck.

Makuhita -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Makuhita Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Makuhita from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Makuhita is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Makuhita does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Continuous Slap, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, and does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip a coin until you get tails.  Makuhita's second move is called Hammer In, this move does 60 damage for three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless.

So on its own, I would not use Makuhita on its own.  I say this because the first thing that jumps out at me when looking at this card is that the retreat cost is extremely high and the fastest Makuhita can do any damage is two turns.  So for a basic Pokemon card I would not use this one in a deck.  If you plan on using this card in your deck, I wouldn't use more than one, and I would set it up on the bench and put three energy cards on it so it could use Hammer In right away.  I don't trust Continous Slap enough to use that move very often.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is another way below average basic Pokemon card.  This card isn't as bad as the Onix card I reviewed from this set, but it still is pretty miserable.  It is way too slow in my opinion for a basic Pokemon, and even though Hammer In is an average move, with only 80 hp, there is no reason at all to put three energy cards on this card because it will get knocked out right away by the time you get that many energy cards on it.
