Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hitmontop from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set. Hitmontop is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 90, it has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Hitmontop does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Quick Draw which allows you to draw a card from your deck for one colorless energy card. Hitmontop's second move is called Helicoptero which requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, and does 40 damage, additionally you have to switch Hitmontop with one of your benched Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hitmontop is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck. I say this because both of the moves Hitmontop has are pretty weak. It may work well to draw another card with Hitmontop's Draw move very early in the game, but you don't want to use a starter type Pokemon card just to draw a card, and since Hitmontop doesn't evolve I wouldn't want to put three energy cards on this card just to be able to do below average damage and then have to go to the bench when using Helicoptero. So unless you're just looking for one more fighting type Pokemon card to use in your deck, I would look elsewhere for Pokemon, I would definitely recommend Hitmonlee then Hitmonchan if you're looking for Basic fighting type Pokemon cards to use in your deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set and well below the greatness of the other to Hitmon Pokemon in this set. Like the other two Pokemon with similar names, this card has a high HP and low retreat cost, plus two moves, however, neither move on this card is that great, thus making this card unusable in my opinion.
