Genesect -- Legendary Treasures Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Genesect from the Legendary Treasures Pokemon Card Set.  Genesect is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Genesect does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Slash, this move requires one grass energy card and does 20 damage.  Genesect's second move is called Gaia Blaster, this move requires four colorless energy cards, and does 50 damage plus 20 more damage for each grass energy card attached to Genesect.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Genesect is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, since this card can attack for only one energy card you can use this card to start the game or you can keep Genesect on the bench and put four grass energy cards on it so Gaia Blaster does 130 damage per turn.  I would put 2 of these cards in almost any grass type deck out there and I would make sure to attach only grass energy cards to Genesect.  The main use I would have with this card is to use Gaia Blaster and knock out every single Pokemon in two turns or less.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a way above average basic Pokemon card from the Legendary Treasures set.  Other than Gaia Blaster requiring 4 energy cards to attack there really isn't anything to dislike about this card, it has an above average hp, low retreat cost, one quick move that does a fair amount of damage, and one slower move that does way above average damage.  If you're building a grass type deck, this card should definitely be in it.

Genesect EX Full Art -- Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Genesect EX Full Art from the Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Set.  Genesect is a basic, EX, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Genesect EX's Ability is called Red Signal, this allows you to switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon each time you attach a Plasma Energy card to Genesect EX.  Besides the Ability, Genesect has one move called Megalo Cannon, this move requires three energy cards, two grass and one colorless, and does 100 damage, plus 20 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Genesect EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this, you'll definitely want to use this EX card in your grass type deck.  The reason I say this is because this card is absolutely amazing.  Strategy wise, you'll want to make sure and have four Plasma Energy cards in your deck and a trainer card or two so you can get those energy cards into your hand.  Once you have those energy cards in your hand, move Genesect EX to the bench, make sure your active Pokemon can attack and do at least 60 damage, then each turn attach one Plasma Energy card to Genesect, move your opponent's weakest Pokemon into play and attack it with your active Pokemon hopefully knocking that Pokemon out.  The best Pokemon to have in your active Pokemon spot at this time is of course Genesect since you can use Megalo Cannon every turn thus doing even more damage to your opponent's benched Pokemon which will shortly be moved to the active Pokemon spot.  So again, I would highly recommend using this card in a deck, and I would recommend using at least 2 of them in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is another excellent EX Pokemon card.  I am giving this EX card my top rating and I definitely think at least one of these cards should be in every single grass type deck out there, you could easily build a deck around this EX card, same goes for the Virizion EX card I reviewed just two days ago.  This card really should be unstoppable once it is set up, since it can do basically 100 damage every turn plus spread damage, and if you use two Genesect at once, you will easily win the game.  So after only reviewing 2 Plasma Blast EX cards, I like both of them a ton!

Genesect -- Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Genesect from the Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Set.  Genesect is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Genesect does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Call for Family, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for 2 basic grass type Pokemon in your deck and put them onto your bench.  Genesect's second move is called Jet Impact, this move requires three energy cards, two grass and one colorless, and does 80 damage plus 20 more damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Genesect is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, I would definitely include this card in a grass type deck, but I wouldn't include 4 of these since the main move you'll want to use with this card is Jet Impact and since that move requires three energy cards, I'd only use 2 Genesect maximum in a deck.  In the Genesect deck I would create, I would also include the basic Pokemon Tropius from this set, that way if you get Genesect into the active Pokemon spot, you can use Call for Family a couple of turns to get those Tropius cards on your bench before you start attacking the defending Pokemon with Jet Attack.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average basic Pokemon card from the Plasma Blast set.  I really do like everything about this card, the only reason I'm giving this card a 4 instead of a 5 is because Call for Family doesn't do any damage.  But that move will definitely help you early on in a game, and Jet Impact will do above average damage every single time you use it.  So if you're looking for a basic Pokemon card to use in your grass type deck, I would highly recommend using this one.
