Gardevoir EX -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Gardevoir EX Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gardevoir EX from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Gardevoir EX is a basic, EX, fairy type Pokemon card with a HP of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gardevoir EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Link Blast, for two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 70 more damage if both you and your opponent have the same number of energy attached to your active Pokemon.  Gardevoir EX's second move is called Luminous Blade and for three energy cards, two fairy and one colorless, this move does 120 damage, however an energy card must be discarded after using this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Gardevoir EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Gardevoir EX does have a Mega EX in this set, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, so you'll want to make sure and read that review.  On its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck, unless you plan on keeping it on the bench, attaching 4 or 5 energy cards to it and then fine with having to discard an energy card each time you attack.  Gardevoir EX's Link Blast move may do 100 damage once, but most times it will do 30 damage, which is pretty poor for an EX Pokemon's attacks.  Whereas Luminous Blade is a powerful move, discarding an energy each turn is definitely something that needs to be considered before playing this card in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though this card does have two moves, both doing damage, this card has a somewhat high retreat cost, lower HP, and neither of its moves are that great, both have potential, but there are caveats with both, meaning, I would look elsewhere when building a fairy type deck.

Gardevoir EX -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Gardevoir EX Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gardevoir EX and Gardevoir EX Full Art from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Gardevoir EX is a basic, EX, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gardevoir EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Life Leap, for one fairy type energy card this move does 20 damage plus heals the same amount of damage from Gardevoir that you did to the defending Pokemon.  Gardevoir's second move is called Shining Wind, this move requires three fairy type energy cards to use, and does 100 damage, plus during your opponent's next turn, Gardevoir has no weakness.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Gardevoir EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  However, Gardevoir does have a mega evolution you could use from this set and I will be reviewing that card tomorrow, so this strategy below will act like Gardevoir EX does not have an evolution.  So knowing this, on its own, the only reason you would want to use this card in a deck is to do 100 damage a turn with Shining Wind, other than that, there isn't much else to talk about with this card.  So do 100 damage a turn every turn with Gardevoir, unless you can knock out the defending Pokemon by doing 20 damage or less, then use Life Leap so you can heal some damage off of Gardevoir.  I would definitely use one of these EX cards in a fairy type deck just because it is so powerful and can do 100 damage every single turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Basic, EX Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  There really isn't anything that I dislike about it, but for an EX card I would have hoped for two great moves, not just one average move and one great move.  But like I said in the strategy section of this post, doing 100 damage a turn with Shining Wind will do quite a bit of damage on your opponent's Pokemon, so this card should definitely be used in fairy type decks.
