Drowzee -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Drowzee Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drowzee from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Set.  Drowzee is a Basic, Psychic type Pokemon card with a HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to Psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Drowzee does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Psychic Boom, for one Psychic Energy card this move does 10 damage times the amount of Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon.  Drowzee's second move is called Headbutt, for two Colorless Energy cards this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drowzee is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Hypno, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, if you're building a Psychic type deck, this card could certainly be used as a starter type Pokemon in that deck.  You could either use Psychic Boom every time your opponent attaches an Energy card to their active Pokemon, potentially preventing them from setting up that Pokemon, or put a Double Colorless Energy card on Drowzee and use Headbutt every turn.  Although this card is decent in that it has two solid moves, because Psychic Boom may not do damage when used and the fact that Drowzee has a higher retreat cost, this card isn't the best starter type Pokemon to use in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Hypno, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Sun and Moon set.  HP and move wise, this card is solid, and even has potentially to do up to 40 or 50 damage a turn with Psychic Boom, but I would much rather use a Psychic type Pokemon that can for sure do 10 or 20 damage a turn for only one Energy card, so I would look elsewhere when deck building.

Drowzee -- Evolutions Pokemon Card Review

Drowzee XY Evolutions Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drowzee from the XY Evolutions Pokemon Card Set.  Drowzee is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drowzee does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Pound, for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage.  Drowzee's second move is called Confuse Ray, and for two psychic energy cards, this move does 10 damage, plus it confuses the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drowzee is a Basic evolution Pokemon with a Stage 1 evolution in Hypno, it is always a good idea to use the full line together, however, there isn't a Hypno in this set, since there wasn't one in the Base Set, but it first appeared in the Fossil set.  Because of this, I will be reviewing Drowzee on its own, but the newest sets to feature Hypno cards would be BREAKpoint and Sun & Moon.  So, on its own, Drowzee could work as a starter type Pokemon in a psychic type deck, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves.  You could potentially start the game with Drowzee in the active Pokemon spot, use Pound the first turn, and Confuse Ray after that, hopefully confusing the defending Pokemon, making them do damage to them-self, and giving you more time to set up your benched Pokemon.  This card could also work later in the game, if it survives an attack, and could prevent defending Pokemon from attacking with Confuse Ray.  So, I could definitely see using this card in a psychic type deck, but because it can't do more than 10 damage a turn, I wouldn't use 4 of these in a deck, maybe 1 or 2.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Hypno, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the XY Evolutions set.  Outside of doing a maximum of 10 damage per turn, there really aren't any negatives with this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, one that attacks quickly, and the other that does damage and inflicts a special condition.  So if you're building a psychic type deck, this is definitely a card to consider.

Drowzee -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Drowzee BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drowzee from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Drowzee is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Drowzee does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Mumble and for one psychic type energy card this move does 10 damage.  Drowzee's second move is called Focused Wish and for two colorless energy cards this move does 10 damage plus 20 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

So, on its own, this card could easily be used as a starter type Pokemon since it can attack for one energy card, has a higher HP, and has a second move that can do up to 30 damage per turn.  Ideally, you would want to attach a Double Colorless energy card to this card so you could use Focused Wish in one turn, and then have a Trick Coin trainer attached to this to give you a better shot at doing 30 damage a turn.  The only downside on this card is that you either have to use a Switch trainer to retreat this card or make sure to have two energy cards on it before retreating.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Hypno, this is an average Basic Pokemon card.  Other than having a higher retreat cost, this card is very solid overall, with a good HP, and two moves that attack quickly and do a fair amount of damage.  So if you're building a psychic type deck, this card is definitely worth consideration.

Drowzee -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Drowzee Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drowzee from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Drowzee is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Drowzee does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Sinister Suggestion, this move requires one psychic energy card and this move makes your opponent always get a tails when flipping a coin during their next turn.  Drowzee's second move is called Psyshot, this move requires two psychic energy cards and does 20 damage.

So, on its own I would probably not use this card in a deck.  I say this because not only is Drowzee a little slower to attack, or at least do some damage, but it also has a higher retreat cost, which will make you give up all energy cards attached to Drowzee when retreating it.  If you do choose to use this card in a deck, I would either get two energy cards on it early in the game and use Psyshot.  I would also consider using this card later in the game, just letting it sit on the bench until your opponent has a Pokemon in the active Pokemon spot that needs a coin flip to do a lot of damage, you could then move Drowzee to the active Pokemon spot, use Sinister Suggestion a few turns while getting your benched Pokemon set up, then move a bench Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot that can knock out that Pokemon of your opponent's in 1 move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  Even though this card is an average card, with an above average HP, and two moves, I am still giving this card 3 rating and would not recommend using it in a deck.  I just think you can find much better Basic Pokemon cards out there to use in a deck.
