Drifloon -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Drifloon Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifloon from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Drifloon is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifloon does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Transfer Pain, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to move one damage counter from one of your own Pokemon to one of your opponent's.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifloon is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Drifblim, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I would recommend using this card if you're building a spread attack type deck, a deck where your opponent Pokemon deal damage to your benched Pokemon, or a deck that will be retreating Pokemon in and out a lot.  If any of these scenarios are true, this card deserves consideration for use, the one caveat being that with only 60 HP, this card won't last too long.  But, because this card requires only one colorless energy card to attack, it can fit in any type deck out there, it just isn't a good starter type Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Drifblim, this is an average Basic Pokemon card.  Like I said in the strategy section of this post, this card is a solid Basic Pokemon card for certain types of decks, it won't work as a starter type Pokemon, but will work later in games.  So, this card definitely deserves at least a look when deck building.

Drifloon -- Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Review

Drifloon Plasma Blast Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifloon from the Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Set.  Drifloon is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifloon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Creepy Wind, this move requires one psychic energy card and confuses the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin.  Drifloon's second move is called Wind Blast, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 40 damage to any one of your opponent's Pokemon.

So on its own, I would not recommend using Drifloon in a deck.  I say this because even though Drifloon has above average hp and two moves, this card cannot do much attack wise, and even if you spend three turns putting energy cards on Drifloon, it still can only do below average damage.  So I would not use this card like I said, if you want to use this card in a deck, make sure it is in a deck that does spread damage so Wind Blast will be more effective, I would then include no more than 2 Drifloon cards in that deck and start the game with one, and use the other to finish off your opponent's benched Pokemon with a bit of hp left.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card.  I mentioned above why I thought this card was below average, and again I would not use this card in a deck, especially since both of Drifloon's moves are below average and it has a high retreat cost for a basic Pokemon card.  In general this card should not be used, but if you're building a spread damage type, this card could be an average card in that deck.

Drifloon #50/124 -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Drifloon Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifloon from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second of two Drifloon cards I'll be reviewing from this set, the other one from this set I reviewed yesterday.  Drifloon is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifloon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Beat and for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage.  Drifloon's second move is called Gust and for two energy cards, one each of colorless and psychic, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifloon has a stage 1 evolution in Drifblim, I would suggest evolving Drifloon into Drifblim as soon as possible because evolution cards are usually better.  But with this card, like yesterday's Drifloon card, I would definitely be okay with moving this card into the active Pokemon spot right away because I think this is an excellent starter card.  I would put two energy cards on Drifloon and do 20 damage every turn with Gust.  I would try and get this card into the active Pokemon spot at the start of the game because this card is quick and does a good amount of damage for a basic Pokemon card.  Depending on the type of deck you are using will determine which Drifloon card you should use, if you want a solid basic Pokemon card I would suggest using this one, if you have a deck full of spread damage type Pokemon I would use yesterday's Drifloon card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a pretty solid basic Pokemon card. It has an average hp, good retreat cost, and two very good moves for a basic Pokemon card.  So after reviewing the two Drifloon cards from this set, I think they are both very good, and I would recommend using either of these cards in a psychic type deck.

Drifloon #49/124 -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Drifloon Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifloon from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two Drifloon cards I'll be reviewing from this set, the other one from this set I'll be reviewing tomorrow.  Drifloon is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifloon does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Sneaky Placement which takes one psychic energy card and lets you put one damage counter on one of your opponent's Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifloon has a stage 1 evolution in Drifblim, I would suggest evolving Drifloon into Drifblim as soon as possible because evolution cards are usually better.  But with this card, I could definitely see it being used on its own in a deck, because it is a good starter Pokemon.  You can put Drifloon into the active Pokemon spot immediately and attack as soon as you get one energy card on it.  You only need one energy card on this card because that's all this card requires.  A good strategy to use with this card is to include this card in a deck that has plenty of Pokemon that does spread damage, that way you can start to spread damage around starting with this card and moving on to more powerful Pokemon later in the game.  I would suggest putting 1 or 2 Drifloon cards in a psychic type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a pretty solid basic Pokemon card. It has an average hp, good retreat cost, and one solid move that spreads damage and is quick to use.  I wish this card would have another move, or have an Ability, but I still think it is a solid card and wouldn't be afraid to include this card in a deck of mine.
