Dragonair -- Sun and Moon Pokemon Card Review

Dragonair Sun and Moon Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dragonair from the Sun and Moon Pokemon Card set.  Dragonair is a Stage 1, Dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to Fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Dragonair does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Dragon's Wish, for one Colorless Energy card this move allows you to attach any number of Energy cards from your hand to Dragonair during your next turn.  Dragonair's second move is called Tail Smack, for three Energy cards, one each of Grass, Lightning, and Colorless, this move does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dragonair is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Dratini into play (I reviewed Dratini from this set yesterday) and then evolve Dratini into Dragonair.  Dratini does have a Stage 2 evolution in Dragonite, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Dragonair is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Dratini, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon overall, at least on its own.  The card had a solid HP, and two moves, one that could get all three Pokemon in this family into your hand from your deck and the other could do 10 damage for one Energy card.  So knowing this about Dratini and looking at this Dragonair card, this is another card in this line that you'd only use in the Active Pokemon spot to set up Dragonite quicker.  So, if you plan on using Dratini and Dragonair without Dragonite, I would not recommend using the cards from this set.  Although Dragonair does do average damage with Tail Smack, because it requires three distinct types of Energy, I would look elsewhere.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Sun and Moon set.  Similarly to Dratini, if you're not using this card with Dragonite, it just isn't that good, since Dragonair's first move, Dragon's Wish, greatly helps Dragonite with its attack.  So together with Dratini from this set, I would give the first two Pokemon in this line a 2 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave each card individually.

Dragonair -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Dragonair Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dragonair from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card set.  Dragonair is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dragonair does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Shed Skin, for one grass energy card this move heals 30 damage from Dragonair.  Dragonair's second move is called Slam, this move requires three energy cards to use, one each of grass, lightning, and colorless, and does 60 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dragonair is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Dratini into play (I reviewed Dratini from this set yesterday) and then evolve Dratini into Dragonair.  Dragonair does have a stage 2 evolution in Dragonite that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, since there are two, the strategy below will act like Dragonair is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Dratini, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly due to the fact it was only guaranteed to do 10 damage a turn and it had a below average HP.  So knowing this about Dratini and looking at this Dragonair card, this card is pretty similar in that it has the potential to do major damage, in this case with Slam, but since the move is based on coin flips, you'll more than likely end up doing 60 damage or no damage at all.  Just looking at this card seems like it would make a nice bridge between Dratini and Dragonite if you had to put this line into the active Pokemon spot right away, you could then use Shed Skin every turn and keep Dragonair alive.  Without using Dragonite with this card, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  There really isn't one thing that I really like about this card, it has a below average HP, and both of the moves it has don't work together at all, even though Shed Skin is a helpful move, but Slam requires too many energy cards and is based on a coin flip so I don't like it.  Together with Dratini from this set, I would give these two cards a 2 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave each card individually.

Dragonair -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Dragonair Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dragonair from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Dragonair is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dragonair does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Wrap, for one lightning energy card this move does 20 damage plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, it paralyzes the defending Pokemon.  Dragonair's second move is called Tail Smack, this move requires two colorless energy cards and one grass, and does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dragonair is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Dratini into play (I reviewed Dratini from this set yesterday) and then evolve Dratini into Dragonair.  Dragonair does have a stage 2 evolution in Dragonite that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Dragonair is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Dratini was a very average basic Pokemon that could be used on its own in a deck but I wouldn't mind if I didn't use it at all.  So after knowing that, and looking at this card, I would probably not use either in a deck without using Dragonite.  The reason I say this is because Dragonair's hp is way too low for a stage 1 Pokemon and its main move, Tail Smack does below average damage.  If you really want to use Dratini and Dragonair in a deck, I wouldn't use more than 1 of each in a dual type, grass and lighting deck.  I would get these Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot as soon as possible since both have low hp, and I would try and use Wrap to make the opponent unable to attack most turns.  If I didn't have Dragonite in the deck I was using, I don't think I'd attach three energy cards to Dragonair, I would just use Wrap several turns and then discard one energy card to retreat it.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. Even though this card has a low retreat cost and two moves, I'm giving this card a below average rating because of its extremely low hp and the fact that Tail Smack does below average damage.  So if you're looking for a dragon type line of Pokemon to use, I would look elsewhere, unless Dragonite is really dominant when I review it tomorrow I would stay away from this line completely.  So far, I would give this line from the Plasma Freeze set a 2 out of 5 rating, Dratini was average, and this card was below average.
