Delcatty -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Delcatty Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Delcatty from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Delcatty is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Delcatty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Replace, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to move as many energy cards attached to your Pokemon to your other Pokemon as you'd like.  Delcatty's second move is called Play Rough, this move requires two colorless energy cards to use and does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Delcatty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Skitty into play (I reviewed Skitty from this set yesterday) and then evolve Skitty into Delcatty.  If you read yesterday's review of Skitty, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the main reason because it had a low HP, and required two energy cards to actually do damage to the defending Pokemon.  So knowing this about Skitty and looking at this Delcatty card, you should only try and use this line to use Delcatty's Replace move, that way, you can set up your Pokemon early in the game, then set up Delcatty on the bench, get one energy card on it, then if you have a powerful Pokemon put onto your bench or you get it knocked out early in the game and you can get it back onto the bench, you can put Delcatty into the active Pokemon spot for one turn, use Replace, and quickly set up that Pokemon you just put on your bench, the next turn retreating Delcatty and playing that newly set up Pokemon.  Delcatty's other move, Play Rough is decent, I would recommend a Trick Coin trainer card with this card so it has a better chance of doing 90 damage a turn, but just like yesterday, this card does have a below average HP.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  This card does have a below average HP and isn't the most powerful Pokemon out there, but I think this card can be very useful in any type deck out there with its Replace move, plus it does have a move that can attack for only two energy cards.  So if you are intrigued by Delcatty's Replace move, I would highly recommend using this Pokemon family in a deck, however combined, I think these two cards are only a 2 out of 5.

Delcatty -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Delcatty Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Delcatty from the Pokemon XY Card Set.  Delcatty is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy retreat cost.  Delcatty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Energy Salon, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for up to 3 different type energy cards and put them into your deck.  Delcatty's second move is called Fake Out and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage and if you get a heads when you flip a coin, the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Delcatty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Skitty into play (I reviewed Skitty from this set yesterday) and then evolve Skitty into Delcatty.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Skitty was a pretty decent basic Pokemon card because it had two good moves and a low retreat cost.  So Skitty can be used on its own or you can choose to use it with this Delcatty card.  I would use both and use a 2-2 or 2-1 line of this Pokemon family.  I would try to get one Skitty card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, evolve it into Delcatty, use Energy Salon first if you have at least two different energy types in your deck, then use Fake Out after that.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  I like pretty much everything about this card except for its low hp, but both of the moves this card has are average to slightly above average and Delcatty has a low retreat cost which is always nice.  So overall, I would give the line of Skitty and Delcatty from the X and Y set a 3 out of 5 rating, they aren't great, but you could definitely use both of them in a deck.

Delcatty -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Delcatty Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Delcatty from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Delcatty is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Delcatty does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move this card has is called Gather Energy, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 30 damage plus allows you to search your deck for an energy card and attach it to one of your Pokemon.  Delcatty's second move is called Double Slap, this move requires two colorless energy card and does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 2 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Delcatty is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Skitty into play (I reviewed Skitty from this set yesterday) and then evolve Skitty into Delcatty.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Skitty was a pretty solid basic Pokemon card that can be used on its own in a deck.  With that being said, this entire Pokemon family should be used in many decks out there.  I would recommend using a 2-2 or 2-1 line of Skitty and Delcatty in almost any type deck.  The earlier you get Delcatty into the active Pokemon spot, the better the game will go for you.  I would try and get Delcatty into the active Pokemon spot a turn or two into the game, then use Gather Energy several times in a row.  Not only should this move knock out most basic Pokemon in two turns, but it will also allow you get energy cards on your benched Pokemon at double the rate you normally would, because you can attach an energy card from your hand to one of your benched Pokemon every turn and when you use Gather Energy you can attach an additional energy card to whichever Pokemon you would like after getting an energy card from your deck.  I would actually stick to using Gather Energy on this card instead of Double Slap, so if you don't have two energy cards on Skitty when you evolve it into Delcatty I would not attach any more energy cards so you'll only have to use one energy card with this line.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card. Everything about this card is pretty good, it has an average hp, low retreat cost, one average move, and one great move.  I like how Delcatty's Gather Energy card can really speed up your setup process and allow you to do major damage early in the game.  I would definitely recommend using this Pokemon family in your deck, this line is colorless so it can be used in all decks, and overall I would give this line a 4 out of 5 rating.
