Chansey -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Chansey Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Chansey from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Chansey is a Basic, Colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to Fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Chansey does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Bind Wound, for two Colorless Energy cards, this move heals 30 damage from one of your Pokemon, if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Hammer In is the name of the second move on this card, for four Colorless Energy cards, this move does 80 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Chansey is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Blissey, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, the one positive on this card is that it can fit into any type deck, since it is a Colorless type card.  With that being said, unless you're desperate for a way to heal damage from your own Pokemon, and don't want to use Trainer cards in your deck, this card could be worth considering.  Other than that, this card is too slow on the attack to do only 80 damage, and in my opinion, the card really isn't worth using at all, since it is either slow to do damage when attacking, or has only a 50% chance of working when using Chansey's first move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Blissey, this is a very poor Basic Pokemon card.  Despite having two moves, and an above average HP, this card just isn't good.  Although it can do 80 damage per turn, there is no reason to put four Energy cards on a card that only has 110 HP, and this card may not be able to heal damage at all when using Bind Wound, since it requires a coin flip.  So unless you want to use Blissey in your deck, I would pass on this card.

Chansey -- Evolutions Pokemon Card Review

Chansey XY Evolutions Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Chansey from the XY Evolutions Pokemon Card Set.  Chansey is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Chansey does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Scrunch, for two colorless energy cards this move prevents all damage done to Chansey during your opponent's next turn if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Chansey's second move is called Double-Edge and for four colorless energy cards this move does 80 damage, however the move also does 80 damage to Chansey.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Chansey is a Basic Pokemon with a Stage 1 evolution in Blissey, you'll more than likely want to use Chansey with its evolution form, the newest set to feature Blissey is Phantom Forces.  Of course Chansey did not have an Evolution until the 2nd generation of Pokemon, and in the TCG not until the Neo Revelation set.  So, just looking at Chansey on its own, even though you can speed it up by using Double Colorless energy cards and essentially do Scrunch for one energy card and Double-Edge for two, it still isn't worth using in a deck, I say this because even though you could up your chances at hitting a heads when flipping a coin when using Scrunch, you only can use Double-Edge twice before knocking Chansey out.  In today's game, 80 damage isn't that much, so there is no need to do that much damage back onto Chansey, just use a card that doesn't have self-inflicted damage instead of this card.  Overall, this card is just too slow and too damaging to itself to recommend use in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering any Blissey cards, this is a well below average Basic Pokemon card and it is one of the main reasons so many cards from Evolutions aren't worth much, they just are not good in the TCG and have no demand for them.  This card does have an excellent HP, but both of its moves are slow, without the use of Double Colorless energy cards, Chansey's retreat cost is high, and the amount of damage it does to itself isn't worth it, so definitely do not use this card in a deck.

Chansey -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Chansey Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Chansey from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Chansey is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Chansey does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Its first move is called Nap, this move requires one colorless energy card and heals 30 damage from Chansey.  Chansey's second move is called Lucky Punch, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 100 damage if you have exactly 7 cards in your hand.

So, on its own I would not recommend using this card in a deck.  Even though this card has a good HP, and made even better by its first move, and this card can do 100 damage per turn, I would not recommend using it.  The main reason being that this card may end up doing zero damage for you if you don't have exactly the right amount of cards in your hand, and its retreat cost is high, so if you're using it without Blissey, you may end up wasting all of the energy you put on Chansey to retreat it.  If you do want to use this card in a deck because you think you can easily get 7 cards in your hand, with trainer cards, etc, then I would get three energy cards on Chansey on the bench and when in the active Pokemon spot use Lucky Punch every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Blissey, this card is a well below average Basic Pokemon card.  This card has a lot of positives that I mentioned in the previous section, like a high powered move, and good HP, but this card is just too slow, has too high of a retreat cost, and is too risky in my opinion to warrant use in a deck at all. so use this Chansey card at your own risk.
