Beedrill -- Evolutions Pokemon Card Review

Beedrill Evolutions Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Beedrill from the XY Evolutions Pokemon Card Set.  Beedrill is a Stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with a HP of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Beedrill does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Poison Sting, for one grass energy card this move does 30 damage, plus it poisons the defending Pokemon.  Swarming Sting is Beedrill's second move and for two energy cards this move does 40 damage times the number of Beedrill you have in play to the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Beedrill is a Stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Weedle into play and then evolve it into Kakuna before you can evolve Kakuna into Beedrill, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average overall and together.  Both Pokemon had well below average HP and both Pokemon could do damage and poison the defending Pokemon when attacking.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Beedrill card, this card fits in well with those Pokemon, it has a low HP and a move that does damage plus poisons the defending Pokemon.  If you plan on using this line in a deck, don't use more than a 1-1-1 line of this family, keeping it on the bench the entire time until you get Beedrill set up, you can then move Beedrill in and out of the active Pokemon spot, poisoning the defending Pokemon and doing damage.  I would not recommend using multiple Beedrill in a deck, which means that at most, this card can do 40 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Evolutions set.  Just like Weedle and Kakuna from this set, this card just has too low of a HP to be used in a deck, and even though it has a free retreat cost, this card is pretty weak when attacking, and can only do a good amount of damage when multiple Beedrill cards are in play at once.  So overall, since I've given each card in this line a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give the entire line only a 1 out of 5 rating, definitely look elsewhere when deck building.

Beedrill -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Beedrill Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Beedrill from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Beedrill is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Beedrill does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Allergic Shock, this move requires one grass energy card and says that during your next turn, if you do damage to the defending Pokemon, that Pokemon is knocked out.  Beedrill's second move is called Twineedle, this move requires two grass energy cards to use and does 50 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Beedrill is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Weedle into play and then evolve it into Kakuna before you can evolve Kakuna into Beedrill, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that neither Pokemon is that great in this set, I actually gave Weedle only a 1 rating because it had a low HP, and a really poor move, and gave Kakuna a 2 rating, because like Weedle it had a low HP, but Kakuna did have one decent move, but had a terribly high retreat cost.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this family and looking at this Beedrill card, if you want to use this Pokemon family in a deck, only use a 1-1-1 line of these three Pokemon.  Set up the entire line on the bench and when you get Beedrill set up, it only needs two energy cards, I would highly recommend moving this card in and out of the active Pokemon spot, using Allergic Shock every time you move Beedrill into the active Pokemon spot.  Basically any time you can't knock out the defending Pokemon in two turns or less with your current active Pokemon, switch out your active Pokemon, hopefully for free or only one energy card, move Beedrill to the active Pokemon spot, use Allergic Shock, wait for your opponent to attack, then during your next turn, retreat Beedrill for free, and put a Pokemon in the active Pokemon spot that for sure does damage, no matter how much damage that Pokemon does, it will knock out the defending Pokemon.  So I would recommend building a deck with many Pokemon in it that have free retreat costs.  You could always try and do 100 damage with Beedrill's second move, but if you can retreat Beedrill for free, I wouldn't risk using a coin flip based move and end up doing zero damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  The only thing that isn't that great about this card is that it has a low HP, but since it does have a free retreat cost, hopefully this isn't too much of an issue.  Other than that, I really like Beedrill's Allergic Shock move, and think it can be a game changer when battling, and if you use a Trick Coin tool on Beedrill when using Twineedle, you can also do some major damage with this card.  However, I can only give this entire line a 2 out of 5 rating, combined this entire line just isn't that great and you're going to have to consider that when deciding whether to use Beedrill in your deck or not.

Beedrill -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Beedrill X and Y Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Beedrill from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Beedrill is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Beedrill does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Poison Jab, for one grass energy card this move does 20 damage and poisons the defending Pokemon.  Beedrill's second move is called Flash Needle, this move requires two grass energy cards and does 40 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 3 coins.  If you flip 3 heads, all effects of an attack on Beedrill during your opponent's next turn are prevented.

Both of those Pokemon cards are below average and if you choose to use this Pokemon family in your deck, you should definitely set it up on your bench.  This entire family can be set up pretty quickly and be ready to attack since Beedrill's best attack requires only two energy cards to use.  You'll definitely want to use this line in a mostly grass type deck since it requires only grass energy cards.  Once you get Beedrill into the active Pokemon spot the strategy is pretty simple, use Poison Jab when you can knock out the defending Pokemon, otherwise use Flash Needle.  I personally wouldn't use this line in a deck because the first two Pokemon in this family aren't that good, but if you choose to use this line in your deck, use a 3-2-2 line and have the family be a supplemental line of cards in your deck, this is definitely a group of Pokemon cards that a deck should not be built around.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this an average stage 2 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Even though this card has a low hp and neither move regularly does that much damage, I'm giving this Beedrill an average rating because both moves it does have are pretty quick, do above average damage for the amount of energy cards required, and if you get Beedrill into trouble it can be retreated for only one energy card.  As a whole, this Pokemon family of Weedle, Kakuna, and Beedrill isn't that great, I would only give it a 2 out of 5 rating.

Beedrill -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Beedrill Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Beedrill from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Beedrill is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Beedrill does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Swift Sting, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 20 damage plus 40 more damage plus confuses and poisons the defending Pokemon if Beedrill has full hp.  Beedrill's second move is called Pierce, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 60 damage.

Neither of the first two Pokemon in these line are even average in this set, so I would definitely recommend setting up Beedrill on the bench if possible.  I would actually use this Pokemon line in a grass type deck, but I would definitely limit the amount of Pokemon from this line I have, I would only use a 1-1-1 line and never move Weedle or Kakuna into the active Pokemon spot.  What I would do with this deck is I would have several Pokemon that have free retreat costs so that I could always move Beedrill back to the bench for free, remove all the damage it had on it then use Swift Sting most turns to not only do 60 damage plus confuse and poison that Pokemon.  You're going to want to put three energy cards on Beedrill regardless so that you can do 60 damage per turn no matter if you're using Swift Sting or Pierce.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 2 Pokemon card from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon card set.  Compared to Weedle and Kakuna from this line, this card is amazing, but compared to other stage 2 cards out there this card is average.  I don't like that Beedrill has a low hp, but I like that it has two moves, both capable of doing 60 damage and a free retreat cost.  Overall, I would give this entire line a 3 out of 5 rating, even though Weedle and Kakuna are terrible, I still would recommend using this line in your deck, but as few as possible.
