Golisopod -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Golisopod Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Golisopod from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Golisopod is a Stage 1, Grass type Pokemon card, with a HP of 130. It has a x2 weakness to Fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Armor is the name of Golisopod's Ability, it says that Golisopod takes 30 less damage from attacks.  Besides the Ability, Golisopod has just one move called Resolute Claws, for three Energy cards, one Grass and two Colorless, this move does 80 damage, plus if your opponent's Active Pokemon is a Pokemon GX or EX, this attack does 70 more damage, for a total of 150 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Golisopod is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Wimpod into play (I reviewed Wimpod from this set yesterday) and then evolve Wimpod into Golisopod.  If you read yesterday's review of Wimpod, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall, it had an above average HP, and two moves, one that could do damage and the other that allowed you to retreat Wimpod back into your hand.  Knowing this about Wimpod and looking at this Golisopod card, this is a perfect card to just keep on the bench, using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family, and only using it when your opponent puts a GX or EX card into the Active Pokemon spot, no only will Golisopod have a good HP, since its Ability makes it even higher, but it can do 150 damage per turn.  Even without facing a card like this, 80 damage for three Energy cards is very good, and as long as you can set this line up on the Bench, I would definitely recommend using this line.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Other than requiring three Energy cards to attack, I really like how this card specifically goes after GX and EX cards, therefore giving you a better chance at getting two prize cards instead of one after defeating that type of Pokemon.  Together with Wimpod from this set, I would give the two cards a 4 out of 5 rating, if you're building a Grass type deck, I would definitely look closely at this line for your deck.
