Glalie -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Glalie Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Glalie from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Glalie is a Stage 1, Water type Pokemon card, with a HP of 120. It has a x2 weakness to Metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Glalie does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Crunch, for two Water Energy cards this move does 40 damage, plus if you get a heads when flipping a coin, the defending Pokemon must have an Energy discarded from it.  Raging Floe is the second move on this card, for three Water Energy cards this move does 70 damage, plus 80 more damage if Glalie has any damage on it.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Glalie is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Snorunt into play (I reviewed Snorunt from this set yesterday) and then evolve Snorunt into Glalie.  If you read yesterday's review of Snorunt, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The only negative on that card was its high retreat cost, other than that it had a solid HP and two good moves.  So knowing this about Snorunt and looking at this Glalie card, if you're building a Water type deck and are in need of a powerful attacker, I would highly recommend using Glalie in your deck.  Not only can you just use Snorunt as a starter type Pokemon and evolve it in the Active Pokemon spot, but you can use Pokemon that do damage to your own Pokemon with this Glalie card, all because of its Raging Floe move, which does 150 damage a turn for only three Water Energy cards.  So again, if you need a powerful Pokemon for your deck, definitely try and fit this card in.  Like Snorunt, this card has two good moves, an even better HP, but it does have a high retreat cost.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Other than a high retreat cost, this card is excellent overall.  It has a high HP, and two great moves, the first move can prevent your opponent from attacking by having an Energy card discarded from their Active Pokemon, and its second move can do up to 150 damage a turn.  Combined with Snorunt from this set, I would give these two cards a combined 4 out of 5 rating.
