Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Spiritomb from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set. Spiritomb is a basic, darkness type Pokemon card with a HP of 70, it does not have a weakness or resistance and has a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Spiritomb does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Nightmare, for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage, and it puts the defending Pokemon to sleep. Spiritomb's second move requires two energy cards to use, one each of darkness and colorless, this move, Damage Play, allows you to move as many damage counters as you like from your opponent's benched Pokemon to their other Pokemon in any way you like.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Spiritomb is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. With that being said, usually with Basic Pokemon, you're looking to see if they can be used as a starter type Pokemon, Spiritomb checks that box since not only can it do 10 damage for only one energy card but it inflicts sleep on the defending Pokemon. So, you can use this card as a starter type Pokemon, but more importantly, this card can be pretty dominate in a spread attack deck, get 20 or 30 damage on each of your opponent's benched Pokemon, use Damage Play on Spiritomb and you can easily knock out one of more of your opponent's Pokemon at once.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set. I would go as far as to say if you're building a spread attack type deck, this card would be a 5 out of 5 rating and it should most definitely be used. But, because this card can only do 10 damage maximum without damage on the opponent's Pokemon, this card is somewhat limited, but I would still highly recommend it or at least giving it a chance when deck building.
