Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Genesect EX and Genesect EX Full Art from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set. Genesect EX is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Genesect EX's Ability is called Drive Change and says that once per turn, before you attack, you may move a Pokemon Tool card attached to Genesect back into your hand. Besides the Ability, Genesect has one move called Rapid Blaster, for three metal energy cards this move does 100 damage plus 20 more damage for each metal energy card you discard from Genesect.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Genesect EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card. But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one. So knowing this about Genesect EX, this card is pretty straightforward strategy wise, it is really just an attacker, doing 100 damage per turn. So you could include one of these in a metal type deck, put three energy cards on it on the bench and then use Rapid Blaster every turn when in the active Pokemon spot. I do like Genesect's Ability, it can help save Tool cards from going to the discard pile if Genesect is supposed to be knocked out, lets you change Tool cards on Genesect often, and allows you to use the same Tool card on more than one Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average EX Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set. There really isn't anything to complain about on this card. It is slow on the attack, but having only one move will let this happen. The one move that Genesect has is very powerful and does above average damage, add in a solid Ability and this card is one to look at when building a metal type deck.
