Wormadam 3/124 -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Wormadam Fates Collide Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Wormadam from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  This Wormadam card is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Wormadam does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Solar Ray, for one grass energy card this move does 20 damage plus it heals 20 damage from each of your own Pokemon.  Wormadam's second move is called Leaf Cutter and for three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, this move does 60 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Wormadam is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Burmy into play (I reviewed Burmy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Burmy into Wormadam.  There is actually another Wormadam card in this set that I will be reviewing in the future since it isn't a grass type Pokemon, plus Burmy has another Stage 1 form in Mothim that I will compare with this card tomorrow.  If you read yesterday's review of Burmy, you'll know that I thought that card was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because it was so limited in what it could do, just having one move that could do a maximum of 10 damage per turn.  But other than that, it was solid overall, with an average HP and low retreat cost.  So knowing this about Burmy and looking at this Wormadam card, this would be an excellent line to start the game with, you could get Burmy into the active Pokemon spot the first turn, do 10 damage for one energy card, then evolve it and do 20 damage the second turn and up to 90 damage the third turn.  Another strategy with this Wormadam card is to have several of your Pokemon have low retreat costs or free retreat costs and have a bunch of Pokemon on your bench with damage on them, you could then use Solar Ray and remove the damage from your benched Pokemon pretty quickly.  I would definitely recommend considering at least a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a grass type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  The only thing I dislike about this card is that it has a little higher retreat cost, but other than that, this card has a high HP, and two great moves, one healing all of your Pokemon in play and the other potentially doing well above average damage.  Together with Burmy from this set, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating, it is worth considering when deck building.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
So thanks for reading today's Pokemon card review of Wormadam from the Fates Collide set, stay tuned for tomorrow's card review of Burmy's other stage 1 evolution form in Mothim, which is from this same set.  Make sure to check below for the Free Pokemon TCG Online Codes!
