Lilligant -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Lilligant BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lilligant from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Lilligant is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lilligant does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Boo-Hoo, for one grass energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it puts the defending Pokemon to sleep if an energy card is attached to it during your opponent's next turn.  Lilligant's second move is called Leaf Slice, and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lilligant is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Petilil into play (I reviewed Petilil from this set yesterday) and then evolve Petilil into Lilligant.  If you read yesterday's review of Petilil, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card on its own, mainly because it had a below average HP and couldn't do any damage when attacking, it could only heal 10 damage from each of your own Pokemon.  So knowing this about Petilil and looking at this Lilligant card, this card also has a low HP, but can actually do damage when attacking.  I am intrigued by Lilligant's move Boo-Hoo, if you can get Lilligant into the active Pokemon spot very early in the game, you only need one energy card to do 20 damage a turn plus it will prevent your opponent from setting up their active Pokemon without putting it to sleep and make them unable to attack, giving you more time to set up your bench.  I am not a huge fan of Leaf Slice since it is a coin flip based move, but if you hit two heads in a row, 60 damage for two energy cards is above average.  This line isn't that great overall, but I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average to slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set, a card that I would highly recommend if it had a higher HP.  I like that this card has two moves, both are quick attacking, and both either do above average damage or extra, like inflict special conditions.  If you're looking for a good card to use early in a game, this card is one you should look at it.  Together with Petilil from this set, I would give the two cards a 3 out of 5 rating.
