Marowak BREAK -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Marowak BREAK BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Marowak BREAK from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Marowak, so basically this card is a Stage 2 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Marowak BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 2), fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Marowak you're evolving it from.  Marowak BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Bone Revenge which requires two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, and does 20 damage plus 40 more damage for each prize card your opponent has taken.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Marowak BREAK is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Cubone into play and evolve it into Marowak before you can evolve Marowak into Marowak BREAK.  I have reviewed both Cubone and Marowak from this set the past couple of days on my blog.  If you read those reviews I thought Cubone was a below average Basic Pokemon mainly because its only move was based on a coin flip but I did think that Marowak was above average, having a high HP, and two very good moves, that both could do a good amount of damage and attack quickly.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this BREAK card, if you're using the first two Pokemon in this line in a deck, there is absolutely no reason not to use this BREAK card with it.  Not only does this card include a move that can do more damage than the Marowak card you're evolving it from, but if you're losing late in the game, this card can be a game saver, since the more prize cards your opponent has the more damage Bone Revenge does.  So ideally, since Marowak BREAK can use Marowak's moves, I would get Marowak into the active Pokemon spot as soon as possible then evolve it into the BREAK version, use Bone Windmill or Sharpshooting right away until your opponent takes at least one prize card, then use Bone Revenge after that.  I would recommend using at least a 2-1-1 line of this line in a fighting type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average BREAK Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set.  This card pairs very nicely with the Marowak from this set, attacking quickly and having a high HP.  So essentially if you're looking for a card that can bring you back into the game and win it at the end, this is a card for you.  I would highly recommend using this line in a fighting type deck, and would give the entire line a 4 out of 5 rating.
