Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Glalie EX and Glalie EX Full Art from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set. Glalie EX is a basic, EX, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Glalie EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Ice Breath, for one water energy card this move paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin. Glalie's second move is called Instant Freeze, for three energy cards, two colorless and one water, this move does 50 damage plus 100 more damage if you have the same amount of cards in your hand as your opponent.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Glalie EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card. But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one. However, Glalie does have a mega evolution you could use from this set and I will be reviewing that card tomorrow, so this strategy below will act like Glalie EX does not have an evolution. So knowing this, on its own, there is absolutely no reason at all to use this Glalie EX cards on its own in a deck. This card wouldn't even be good if it wasn't an EX card, Ice Breath is a very poor move and is sometimes seen as an addition to a move that does damage, and Instant Freeze is very poor too unless you can match the amount of cards in your opponent's hand, and it would be a pain to do this every turn, so being able to do 50 damage a turn for three energy cards on an EX card, is pretty horrid. So overall, there really isn't any strategy to talk about on this card except for not using it on its own and if you plan on using this card with M Glalie EX, keep it on the bench.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a very poor EX Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set. There is really nothing that I like about this card, it has a lower HP, and two pretty bad moves, making this card unusable in the TCG. Stay away from this card if you can. It sure is disappointing the past two EX cards from this set that I've reviewed are quite poor.

This would be True.
ReplyDeleteI like how some EX cards are better off left as they are. Glalie Manectric Sceptile and others are better off without the mega evolution.
In the TCG they just have better uses outside that.
