Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Fennekin from the BREAKthrough set. Fennekin is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an HP of 50. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Fennekin does not have an Ability or an Ancient Trait and only has one move. The only move that this card has is called Firebreathing, for two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, this move does 10 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Fennekin is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Braixen, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, and a Stage 2 evolution in Delphox, which is in the XY set, I will be reviewing this Fennekin card as if I'd be using it on its own. So looking at just this Fennekin card, I wouldn't recommend using it. The main reason I say this is because Fennekin can't attack for one energy card plus it has a lower HP. The one move that Fennekin does have can do above average damage if you flip a heads but otherwise the card is very poor overall. So unless you're using this card with Braixen, do not use this card in a deck, it is too slow, and too underpowered to recommend use.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set. The only thing I like about this card is that it has the potential to do 40 damage per turn for two energy cards, but other than that, this card is very poor and underpowered if you don't get a heads when using Firebreathing. Look elsewhere for Basic Pokemon to use in a fire type deck.
