Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Jirachi from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set. Jirachi is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 70, it has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Jirachi does not have an Ability or Ancient Trait but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Diminutive Desire, for one metal energy card this move allows you to look at the top 7 cards in your deck, choose one of them to move to your hand and shuffle the other 6 back into your deck. Jirachi's second move is called Doom Desire, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of colorless and metal, and says that Jirachi must discard all energy cards attached to it, then at the end of your opponent's next turn, that Pokemon is knocked out.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Jirachi is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. With that being said, this card definitely has some intrigue to it and warrants and least an in depth look if you're building a metal type deck. I am not huge fans of either of these moves, especially Diminutive Desire which basically is a trainer card in a move. But I like Doom Desire quite well, the earlier you would use this card in the game the better, mainly because if you try and keep this card on the bench then move Jirachi into the active Pokemon spot to use this move, if you're facing a powerful Pokemon, yes you can knock it out in one turn, but not after they attack you and probably knock you out. So if you use Jirachi in a deck, use it against weaker Pokemon and ones that can't knock out Jirachi in one turn.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set. This card does have an above average HP and a low retreat cost, of the two moves it has, I think one is below average and one is above average making this card average overall. I am sure this Jirachi card will work great if you strategize around it, and even on its own, it can probably knock out a Pokemon or two, so it is definitely worth consideration if you're building a metal type deck.
