Starmie -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Starmie Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Starmie from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Starmie is a stage 1, psychic  type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Starmie does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Synchro Star, this move requires one colorless energy card to use and does 10 damage plus 60 more damage if the defending Pokemon and Starmie both have the same amount of energy attached to them.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Starmie is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Staryu into play (I reviewed Staryu from this set a few weeks ago) and then evolve Staryu into Starmie.  If you read my review of Staryu, the first thing you'll want to know is that it is a water type Pokemon card but doesn't require any water energy cards to attack.  The second thing you need to know is that Staryu is a very poor card in this set, only having one move that is based on a coin flip.  Because of this, if you want to use Starmie in your deck, definitely set up the entire line on your bench.  So taking a look at this specific Starmie card, I would highly recommend using a 1-1 line in a deck, putting 1 energy card on Starmie and keeping it on the bench until your opponent uses a Pokemon in the active Pokemon spot that has one energy card on it, I would then switch Starmie into the active Pokemon spot, use Synchro Star, doing 70 damage, and then retreat it during the next turn, hopefully performing a one hit knock out when you attacked.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  This card really isn't much better than average overall, having an average HP and only one move.  But I really like the combination of the move that this card has and the fact it has a free retreat cost, these two things work perfectly together and should really help you during your battle.  Together with Staryu from this set, I would give the two Pokemon a 3 out of 5 rating, Staryu is very poor, but I would never use it in the active Pokemon spot anyway.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
